Diet soda is terrible for you. Carmel color, aspartame, phosphoric acid- very bad for your bones and teeth, contributes to osteoporosis
Drink sparking water |
Agreed. I do this at work. I work with people and can’t have food in my teeth or icky breath. I drink a mini can of Diet Pepsi. The 7.5 oz size. Is it health food? No. But the little bit of caffeine helps tide me over until I can eat and it helped me lose 30 pounds (along with other changes). Some days I don’t even drink the entire 7.5 oz can. |
Aspertame is a known carcinogen.
From NIH: we encourage all national and international public health agencies to urgently reexamine their assessments of aspartame’s health risks https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8042911/ https://www.cspinet.org/resource/aspartame-and-cancer |

What about Zevia made with plant based sweetener like Stevia? |
Diet soda is so unhealthy. You'd be healthier drinking regular soda. Suck on an ice cube. Or eat more, like a normal person. |
Zevia is non GMO naturally flavored no dyes and no chemicals |
Long time Diet Coke addict here. It’s very hard on your kidneys. I had to stop. |
Natural news? Give me a break. I don’t want to drink Kombucha, wear natural deodorant, and follow Phish. |
How many diet sodas daily does “between meals” equal to you? |
Also it says the study was done on rats. |
OP, have you tried unsweetened iced tea or hot tea in the afternoon? I find it really helps keep me from snacking. Caffeine keeps me up at night, so I usually opt for herbal tea, but sometimes I'l do green tea if I want a little caffeine. So much healthier than a daily diet soda! I also do enjoy a diet coke but I consider it an occasional treat. |
Of course, how silly! Far better to get cancer ![]() |
Sparkling water with a splash of OJ works for me. |
Natural news is a particularly scientifically unreliable site. Known to promote all sorts of conspiracy theories, and I believe they are anti-vaccine. Is aspartame good for you? No. But there's no reason to think it's harmful is the quantities at which you're likely to be consuming it. |
