Why are you wearing a full face of makeup to the pool?

How is it unkind to ask about someone's lipstick? These are 3 and 5 year olds. You sound like you're probably the lady from the pool, LOL

I’m not the lady from the pool but I’ve certainly worn makeup and a bikini there. I’m not hurting anyone. Neither is the washed out lady in the frumpy one piece. Or literally anyone based on what they’re wearing or not at the pool. And yes, saying someone’s appearance is “weird” is not kind no matter how old you are. I wouldn’t allow my child to speak that way about anyone.

Live and live OP. You will find that life is sweeter without the judgement!

You sound bitter and mean OP.

What is the point? Why even bother? This is the suburbs lady, you're not at Millie's anymore.

“Because she likes pink lipstick.” That’s all you need to say. And there’s nothing wrong with wearing pink lipstick to the pool.

I frequently respond to my kids that people "are who they are" or that they "are doing what they like."

This. The most I ever wear is under eye concealer and lip gloss, but many women wear much more than that lots of places, including to the gym, Target, and the gyn office. I assume they prefer wearing it to not wearing it. How is the pool different than those other places?

Maybe she just came from someplace (lunch, place of worship, meeting, visit with Grandma) and didn’t want to wash her face. I’m not sure how this woman impacted you and your children, OP?

NP. No, OP, that isn't all that you said. You said your kids said "that's weird". Your 3 and 5 YOs are judgmental and that is on you. MYOB and teach your kids better.

OP sounds obnoxious. Mind your own.

I wear a little bit of mascara and lip gloss and and do my brows before going to the gym. I know it’s silly, but it just makes me feel a little better. I know I look fine without it as well, but I enjoy it. If people judge, that’s ok, I understand their perspective as well. But I’ll keep on doing what makes me happy.

Because she cares about feeling attractive and that’s what works for her. You probably don’t care about your appearance in the same way that she does but I doubt she’s posting on some anonymous message board asking strangers why some woman she doesn’t know can’t be bothered to make herself look more attractive.

I wear makeup at the pool because my kids are old enough that I don’t have to get in, but not old enough to go by themselves. I like to look nice since I run into people I know.

Yuck how annoying

Well, a full face of makeup does look silly at the pool. Similar to hair worn down at a cardio gym. But, whatever.
