Anyone else prefer luxury water instead of carrying around a Camelbak/Hydro Flask?

There's a special place in hell for people who drink bottled water

I assume the cheaper crumbly plastics on the cheap brands are far more likely to leech into the water. The bottles Fiji and Evian use are much more substantial.

You assume wrong. Please educate yourself. Single use plastic is terrible for your health and the environment. And anything sold at Costco, CVS or any major discount store is not even remotely in a "luxury" category. LOL.

And yet...they're still plastic.

This is a rationalization to help you with the cognitive dissonance that you want to continue to do something that you know is bad. It is not based in science and is entirely inaccurate.

Where I am single use plastic water bottles are banned. I now prefer filtered water in a yeti or swell bottle. Keeps it colder and avoids the plastic taste and SO much better for the environment.

Do people really use camelbacks for everyday use? I think of them as hiking or skiing accessories.

I bet there are far fewer chemicals in a new bottle of Fiji than there are bacteria in the average persons Camelbak bottle. I bet the average Camelbak people carry around 5-7 days a week is disgusting, both on the outside where you hold it and the mouth part.

I did try the steel one that looks like an elegant bottle. Can’t recall the name. It was too big and heavy. And I have no need for insulated, I like my water room temperature. I also had the same bacteria concerns.

Get a glass Life Factory bottle. I have two and rotate one in the dishwasher every day. It's glass and doesn't make the water taste disgusting like plastic does.

I feel like this thread is going to be epic. Up there with "I need something sweet to drink with food since water doesn't quench my thirst."

Camelbak makes regular container bottles too, they seem to be popular. I’m not talking about the backpack contraption.

I call troll. You can't be this ignorant.

I know that sounds terribly shallow. I tried doing the Camelbak thing but found it extremely annoying to carry around and I honestly didn’t enjoy drinking from it, thus I drank less water than I do going through 500mL bottles. I also think it’s somewhat gross to carry around something you drink from and I seriously doubt people wash those daily. Seems like a breeding ground for lots of bacteria to me.

You are both stupid and an environmental disaster. Add in shallow, and you'd hit the trifecta. Congratulations, I guess?

OP, you’re awful.

I actually think Evian has the WORST plastic taste. I don't mind Aquafina.

But I rarely buy it. I use a glass ... over and over again ... or a hydroflask. It's not rocket science.

Whatever. I agree with this poster. It's just waste for the sake of waste. People who choose to drink bottled water when they could use a reusable bottle or a Brita pitcher or whatever are gross. Bottled water is terrible for the environment, and there's no real benefit to it. (I don't count the preference for drinking from a plastic bottle with a jungle print on it because is "elegant.") And look at how hard OP has to work to justify it, straight-up making up stuff like it's a different kind of plastic or it's not possible to disinfect a reusable bottle.
