We’re not talking Oreos or Doritos. We’re talking a processed, middle-aisle or freezer entree or side dish (or “helper” to make an entree or side dish) that you love. You don’t even have to currently eat it—I’ll accept nostalgia items your parents used to make. For me, it’s Rice-a-Roni, the San Francisco treat. There is something so comforting about that “rice and vermicelli blend” that is so satisfying as a side dish. I haven’t had it since before I was married, but I’m tempted.
https://www.myforkinglife.com/copycat-rice-a-roni-2/
No, no, no. The point of boxed food is that it is boxed food.
I'm the PP who posted this, also the spaghettios and hot dogs poster. Neither of which is boxed but that's irrelevant. I don't have an issue with boxed or processed food, but if it's something I'd like to serve regularly then I'm going to at least test and see if there's a healthy sub. We've actually had fun making homemade spaghettios, but not hot dogs. So, I might make the boxed one to remind me what it tastes like and also see if I still liked it, and then try making it to see if it is as good.
