APS does not require a PCR test to return. You can take a rapid antigen at home self-proctored using eMed. APS provides the test and instructions.

Yes, and you can also take your kid over to Syphax for a free rapid test. They send the results directly to your school.

If vaccinated, then do nothing. We never got a close contact case all year. Multiples cases in my kids’ classes. No quarantining unless you had covid. Your sister has it, great, come to school until you test positive.

Since basically everything (even a tummy ache) can be COVID, my kids had to prove a negative result to come back. Which is crazy to me because no one ever asks if your kid has tested negative for flu, norovirus, RSV etc. Just COVID throws us into a frenzy still. Toward the end of the school year I stopped erring on the side of keeping my kids home with a slight runny nose because I didn’t want to get flagged for a test to come back so it had the opposite effect of keeping sick kids out of school. I would have gladly kept them home if there wasn’t a hurdle to return (I was told you’re only given a proctored rapid test if your kid is *sent home* sick, not if you call out). Also Syphax only tests kids without symptoms I believe. If you’re showing symptoms you have to get a PCR at Kenmore, which takes 24 hours. Basically APS has made this so onerous they are disincentivizing parents from reporting symptoms and keeping sick kids home.

Honestly? Because of the unreasonable testing processes, I would say, "Larlo is out of school for a dentist appointment/family emergency/dr. appointment". It's sad, but I'm not about to put myself and my kids through APS's hygiene theater when at-home tests are saying the kid doesn't have Covid.

Please keep up. I've always gotten PCR results in 24 hours or less without even signing up for expedited.

Also - the school will see that your child is sick and will send them home and require testing. You will be the a** who sent your kid to school sick. Doesn't make you look very good to the school.
