This! At least the junior has a shot at a non-parent speaker next year. 😂

So this applies to Jose Andreas speaking at stone ridge as well, right? And the board head at STA who had a son graduating this year and gave the main address? Just checking for consistency

This two minutes hate brought to you by the "all conservatives are evil people and should never speak in public, no matter how benign they are" society.

except he spoke at B-CC a few years ago.

Strange to have him address the senior class when he refused to meet with seniors and had 5 of them arrested for protesting outside of his office in 2019.

Yes, let’s all live in a liberal echo chamber and silence all other perspectives.

I'm a Democrat who feels very strongly that it's time to stop treating literally all Republicans like garbage and automatically not listening to what they have to say. Not all Republicans are nutjob Trumper MAGA Tea Party.

Yes they are.

He gave an excellent, very appropriate graduation speech. What more do you want?

DP, but to avoid giving platforms for crazy people, even if their successors were so crazy that they now seem normal by comparison. No, they're not decent people at all.
I'm sure he gave a nice speech - 99% of people could pull up a nice speech on the internet. Doesn't make him a good person or a role model for the kids.

Only by your narrow definition is he crazy or not a good person. I’ve known and liked him for years. He’s done more with his life than I’m guessing you’ll ever do.

He said inner cities are poor because residents have no work ethic. He tried to gut the very public assistance that he himself used as a kid.

He’s worthless and the less we hear from him the better.

No, they aren’t, and they put themselves on the line to prove it: Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, etc.

They are enablers who won’t admit that the election was fair, that Jan 6 was a coup, and that Trump is a criminal.

Indeed. Did you know he is also a sub-3 marathoner?

I'm a Republican, think the election was won by Biden fairly, think Jan 6th was a disgrace that set the party back decades, and that Trump is a criminal and should most likely be in jail (though so should a lot of people on both sides who never will be). But go ahead and be a poster child for the 'party of inclusion' and assume anyone who thinks differently than you is automatically despicable. The fact that people can't have reasonable, rational disagreements is a main reason this country is a disaster right now.

I’m a very liberal Dem. I would have no problem with Paul Ryan as a speaker. I wouldn’t vote for him. But he is certainly not McConnell, Gym Jordan, Matt Gaetz, etc…. He is one of a very few sane conservatives. I would compare him to Liz Cheney. I wish the GOP had more people like him.
