How many celebs have you met or seen?

Lost track of all I’ve seen. Some of the more interesting ones were Anna Wintour and Phoebe Waller-Bridges at a Broadway show, Reese Witherspoon and her daughter at another show, Simon Cowell in the Saks shoe department. He told me he really liked the shoes I was trying, which I later wore on my first date with now dh.

I knew what she meant and found it a tad amusing -- I went to this guy's house and saw him! (cute)

Ashton Kutcher- super nice. Gregory smith (was one Everwood at the time, also super nice.) Joshua Jackson- patient and nice. Sting- was a jerk. Rachel brosnehan from the marvelous Mrs maisel was one of the nicest celebrities I’ve ever met. Saw the cast of the original gossip girl filming- they were nice too. Saw Phillip Seymour Hoffman walking around the area near NYU when I attended. Saw Wilson from house in the same area. Also met one of the other doctors from House when I lived on the upper west side of NYC. Saw Adam Sandler at a random bar in tribeca- he was kind to everyone but left quickly when he realized it was crowded. Sat next to Marla maples at a restaurant in NYC while trump was president but couldn’t overhear her conversation and had no interest in meeting her. Saw Leonardo DiCaprio rising a bike in tribeca with friends or a bodyguard. Recently saw Jason Biggs from American pie at a restaurant in park city, but didn’t disturb him. Basically many celeb sightings in NYC, most of whom are nice.

Parents met the Clinton’s at a wedding a few years ago. They were gracious. Another family member ran into Paul McCartney at a restaurant in the hamptons but claims she did not know who he was. Colleagues had positive run ins with Orlando bloom and Tina fey in NYC as well.

Eddie Murphy at a club in NY. He's short!
Kevin Bacon filming a scene for City on a Hill at the Central park Zoo
Bill Clinton at a reception for a civil rights event.
Barack & Michelle Obama 1st inaugural ball. I was very close to the stage so I guess that counts.
Andy Cohen in the lobby of the Beverly Hills Hilton. He's short!
Henry Kissinger was on a flight with him when I was in high school.
Ronald Regan at a small business event my father was involved in.
Rosalyn Carter at the White House for Girl Scout event when I was 12. I have picture standing next to her.

Met Paul Reiser said hi and he talked to me five minutes
Met Snoop Dog also nice we chatted briefly
Met Evander Holyfield, Joe Montana, chatted. Evander was heavyweight champ and he introduced himself up me. He was waiting for Sugar Ray Leonard.

I saw Brad Pitt, Paul Newman, Tara Banks, Christie Brinkley, Bill Murray, Bill Cosby, Lee Majors, John Travolta, etc out and about. Did not talk.

Weirdly I met Joey Buttofucco at a party right before Amy Fischer thing. Also when I was 18 met Bruce Willis right before Moonlightening. He was a bartender

Old school I met Robert Stack and Dina Merril at a party. Doubt anyone remembers them. But big big stars in the day and were married.

How about you guys?

I will go up to them if I’m interested in meeting them and they make eye contact or aren’t very obviously busy. In NYC I’ve met several celebrities this way- walking on the sidewalk, on set but not actively filming, outside a venue etc. i will not disturb celebrities who are dining or clearly in a rush/busy with young kids/wearing AirPods or on the phone and do not want to be disturbed.

Many. I dont really care. They truly are normal people, many worse looking in person. The most common uniting quality they have is most are much smaller in person- thinner and shorter and just smaller. But they truly are just regular humans, not that interesting.

Would you judge them if they respond badly or dismissively to you approaching them?

It depends on the situation and how bad the response is. Sting for example was sort of quietly a jerk when I met him waiting outside a spin class class before the studio opened- he was sitting around waiting in a public spot like the rest of us and could’ve just been nice about it. I don’t particularly judge him for it but if he has caused a scene, yes I would have. Fans are what a celebrity’s success is built off of, so sorry but it’s part of your biz and your brand. And on the flip side, I think more highly of celebrities who are gracious with being recognized.

Hundreds. I’ve lived in Los Angeles all of my life. Celebrity sightings are a regular occurrence.

Sting is generally known as an introvert and quite shy. It must be quite draining to deal with strangers in random situations. I can understand approaching celebrities who actively encourage and court fans but am not sure an artist, musician or actor who happens to be very good and successful at what they do should have to always be available to the public.
