Unearned privileges of birth

Society will not change. Certain physical characteristics or heritage will always be preferred. I don’t possess most of them and accept it. I just get annoyed when people don’t acknowledge their luck or the advantages they have from being a pretty and thin woman, a tall man, a certain race, or a child of wealthy or educated parents.

Yes there is a history of POC being held down in society and now society has evolved to realise how wrong this was. It's funny to me that now POC want to put down white people, make them feel bad about being born white, I mean it's not like they chose it, there is so much hate against white people from POC. I get it, I get what white privilege is but to me, it's also racism.

POC are just as racist with their hate against white people and thoughts on white privilege. Society will evolve when people actually stop looking at someone's skin colour and starts looking at them, the person, a human being. A human being who is no different to them.

We are not there yet. No matter what colour skin you have, people still see skin colour which when you think about it is a little crazy, it's absurd however POC are just as guilty of this as white people. Really we are all the same. POC are giving a blanket assumption about white people purely based on their skin colour, that they have white privilege, I know plenty of white neighbourhoods which have no such privilege. POC in other countries can be just as cruel as white people. White people can be horrendously cruel to other white people. People are people not matter what colour their skin. People in general no matter what their skin colour can be cruel. Just look at the Holocaust or Ukraine today. India's caste system.

When we move past this, perhaps we will grow as a human race but not in this lifetime, not for anyone reading here, there is far too much hatred for real growth. It will be a few more centauries yet.

Because it is an inevitable fact that has been institutionalized in our system for hundreds of years. You don't want to hear it because it's inconvenient. I will also add there are similar biases against women (we only had the right to vote 100 years ago; could not own credit in our own names IN MY LIFETIME).

I'm not saying it's not improving. But it's far from perfect or even what should be expected. And it is not too much to have those who benefit from that, even implicitly, to acknowledge that w/o getting defensive about it. I'm not saying you don't work hard. I'm not saying "white people are bad." But in order for there to be ANY serious discussion you have to acknowledge that it just exists. And if you don't, this will go nowhere.

All we do is acknowledge that it exists. Over and over and over. Not only has it existed in the US, it has existed over the course of human history. Did you know that only a tiny percent of African slaves headed to the Western Hemisphere were sent to North America? Like 4%?

I am happy to contribute to the eternal project of race/gender equality. But, seriously, enough of the acknowledge stuff. You can have a serious discussion without always involving race.

The government needs to build institutions, all controlled by non white and non Asian, to house every single new born. Same clothing, same feeding, same furniture, and being exposed to non white nursery music. No baby should eat more than others or wear larger size clothings or shoes. Non bobay needs to start to talk, song, walk, or run before all other babies can, especially the white one.

It’s called virtue signaling. At its worst, it portrays minorities as victims of an oppression that will never end, which is a bad mindset for everybody involved. It also discourages some people who would otherwise be allies.

But, systemic racism is real. Minorities have a harder time getting a mortgage at a good rate. Schools in minority neighborhoods are a lot worse. We need to fix these with action (I work in the policy field on a related issue) and at the voting booth. Not by anonymous virtue signaling on a mom’s forum.

I'm not sure if you're joking, but it's true. Of all traits bestowed at birth, this is one that absolutely has the most privileges and nobody ever acknowledges this. The battles on the college forums are proof of this. People believe that high test scores should be the one and only criterion for selective college admissions, completely dismissing the value of hard work, determination, character. It's confounding to me. And I was blessed with high intelligence at birth. I can acknowledge that I did not earn it.
