Because it is an inevitable fact that has been institutionalized in our system for hundreds of years. You don't want to hear it because it's inconvenient. I will also add there are similar biases against women (we only had the right to vote 100 years ago; could not own credit in our own names IN MY LIFETIME).

I'm not saying it's not improving. But it's far from perfect or even what should be expected. And it is not too much to have those who benefit from that, even implicitly, to acknowledge that w/o getting defensive about it. I'm not saying you don't work hard. I'm not saying "white people are bad." But in order for there to be ANY serious discussion you have to acknowledge that it just exists. And if you don't, this will go nowhere.[/quote]

Me and my family we’re not born into wealth yet all of my singling and family did just fine. Even in an “institutionalized racist society”.  People like you keep the racism/classism going.
