I wake up at 3:00 so I can workout for an hour in the morning. I then leave for work at 5:30.
If it is nice out and I don't have too much work to do, I try to go for a short run in the evening. It is hard to do most days, though. |
I didn't notice that my phone switched the spelling until after I hit the "Submit" button. Perhaps others also fell victim to autocorrect.
We aren't publishing an academic paper; we are on DCUM. Therefore, revising and proofreading prior to submitting responses is not a priority. |
| This year I began holding the line on working my contract hours (mostly). I’m a natural night owl and my school starts early, so I sleep as late as possible, leave ASAP at the end of the day, and do my work out immediately when I get home. I used to try to do longer workouts and then found myself do8ng them less frequently because of the time commitment, so now I only do 20-30 minutes and get one in almost every day. |

I am way too tired and busy after work. I get up at 4ish to work out, do laundry, unload the dishwasher, etc.. I like at be at school at 6:45am, so I leave at the house at 6:25. I go to bed at 8pm.

I live next to a ES. I see a few staff members walking or even running during their lunch break.
But, some people don't like sweating and than wearing the same clothes for the rest of the day. Or if you don't sweat, then it wasn't hard enough workout. |
| I have a set day midweek that I take a class at the gym + one weekend morning class. Aside from that, I do a lot of walking. On my weekday gym night, I pick up takeout on my way home. DH doesn’t cook at all. Some nights, I’ll throw a sheet pan meal into the oven and steam a 30 minute work out. |

Go to a gym? I could have worked out by the time I drive somewhere to work out. Work out at home in the mornings. walk the stairs , yoga, light weights, walk the neighborhood (It's all hills!) -- so so many ways to keep fit without going to a gym. No time for that. I'm a teacher and a mom, after all. Every minute of the day is demanded. Also I might stay after school and take a jog around the neighborhood. It's a great way to wind down before afternoon errands, kids, dinner, etc. So many different ways to work it all in. I don't sit down during the work day. Maybe that is the key. I don't think I could tolerate a sitting-down career. Ok, 6 am and worked out; need to start getting ready to go. Leave at 6:30, arrive at school at 7am. My student assisntants will be waiting for me so they can help around the classroom and earn their SSL hours. |

I know a lot of people rise early to work out, but I already wake up at 5:30 and the thought of earlier makes me grumpy. So I work out usually after dinner. Basically, I look at who needs to be where after school, how to manage all the pick ups and drop offs and then I go when there is a 45-60 minute break in there. I do have one week night exercise class where my family works around my class.
But yeah, I have many colleagues who get up at 4 a.m. to exercise. I think they're nuts, but good for them! |
