I think it suits the CCP just fine to have complete control over their population.
There’s so much West does not understand about China that might inform a perspective on this. For example, in China an individual cannot just move from one city to another. There is a residential application process to receive something called a HuKou. This allows govt to easily control population movement. An individual can still physically try and get to another city but once there you live on the fringes of society as an illegal resident. Much akin to an illegal immigrant in the US who cannot enroll in local school or get public services or an apartment etc… The Chinese lockdown really operates through individuals phones. Everything… access to banking, purchases, transport has migrated in recent years to the WeChat app which is monitored by the CCP. Your travel status also runs through this. In lockdown mode no one is given the “green” to travel. |
| It has nothing to do with China wanting to control their own people. Nope, nothing at all |
You honestly expect DCUM people to get that?
|
Fair point. |
Yeah, I have numerous (serious!) posts from people who wish the US was ‘more like China’. So disturbing. |
| *have seen |
| They need a bunch of rabid moms too protest against masks, that will make Covid go away. No masks, no Covid like here in US. |
Yup. Abortion isn’t working fast enough. Covid, war, Chinese/Mexican Fentanyl.... whatever works. |
How soon will this White House and Congress get that here? |
See 10:55. |
Honestly, it’s just astounding. Your point on phones is the key. Globalism’s main goal is control through tech - unless you comply with X or Y, your access to basic services is cut off. |
Given their population, they have no other choice. Halfa$$ job like US won't work for them. They need absolute control so covid doesn't get out of hand. And unlike US, central govt can do whatever they want. Good for them. |
Quarantine until it goes away. Works every time. Because you keep needing to quarantine because it isn't going away. |
Yep. scroll down to post 11:09. People here in DC still thinking we should be like China. The scary thing is, people don't realize how easily it could happen. |
+1 Given their lack of good vaccines/vaccination, given their medical infrastructure (which is quite different than what we have here or in other developed countries), given the culture of sickness phobia that permits and encourages quarantines after 2 years, this is what China is continuing to choose. Hong Kong is too, but they might not want to/be able to continue to choose zero covid. |
