+1. I was coming on here to say that I listen to podcasts. |
Same. Specifically the murder/mystery ones. Started season 3 of Dr. Death based on a post here. |
| Garment sewing, started learning how to sew during the last semester of undergrad. I took a beginning sewing class at the local community college to do something fun and different from my other coursework (economics.) It's been almost 20 years since that first one and I have taken many more classes to learn pattern drafting, tailoring, draping, etc. I look forward to teaching my kids how to sew if they're interested. I also knit and bake/cook. But sewing is what I really love to do when I have free time. |

I have decided that working out is a hobby for me when I do it for a longer period of time than is necessary, and when it’s what I choose to do when I have free time. At this point in life it is a hobby for me.
This is silly and worthy of making fun of, but I like doing intellectual things. I love learning things, going to museums, visiting historical sites, leaning about the stars and then going to dark places to see them, attending lectures, etc. I like teaching my kids so I make them go too. I love learning languages. I’m fluent in Spanish and Romanian and I have dabbled in German and Russian. I also love dark romance novels. Contemporary romance is okay if it includes lots of spicy scenes. I am kind of known for these things in that if my friends were describing me in depth for whatever reason, these are the things they would say about me (aside from what I look like, who I’m married to, the memorable/embarrassing things I’ve done, etc) |

| I am a sewer too and concentrate on home dec stuff. Over the years, I can make custom drapes, pillows and slip covers. A few years ago, I took an upholstery class and have taken on a few big projects during the pandemic. Sewing is truly my happy place and I have infinite patience for difficult projects. My DH laughs at me because I have zero patience for technology type things. |
| Up until I was maybe 30 I drew and painted quite a lot, then less so, then not at all. Then maybe 10 years ago I was cleaning out a piece of furniture to get rid of it and found an electric pencil sharpener as well as a stash of unsharpened colored pencils. So then I started sharpening them and then I did a lot of drawings for a few years and then I kind of stopped and have not been able to get into that groove again. I should be doing that instead of mindless internet stuff |
| Knitting, reading, exercise, especially exercise outdoors (biking, running, walks, skiing), baking. Mindless time on the internet is probably also one, but I wish it was not. |
