Will OPM close 1/4?

Anonymous
It will be closed based on the fact that some local areas are still not plowed, and many other businesses follow OPM.

I’m assuming it will be open on a delayed arrival. I would be absolutely floored if they closed.

Yes way they close tomorrow. Close in burbs had a foot of snow that didn't stop falling until 3pm. Plows havent touched nearly enough streets and we will have a hard freeze tonight. Schools are closed region wide. Opening is just stupid.

^this. I live in a very close, inside the beltway Virginia neighborhood that still has 6 inches of snow on every single road around us.

They closed for at least 5 days in a row during the 2010 snowstorm. That was way bigger but the main issue was lack of plowing, and that was even before widespread telework. So I could see it going either way.

+1. Arlington County sent out an alert that it hadn't cleared roads since due to Covid they had insufficient staff to do so. Roads aren't cleared, power is out all over the place. OPM could in theory open but that would be denying the reality on the ground.

Yes, screw those people who can't work from home. Who cares if the roads aren't safe.

Hmmm, implies they work with classified material but doesn't know how to use a question mark. Checks out.

If OPM opens, they are either ignorant or malicious.

Is this true?!

Just got a text that FFx County government will open tomorrow at 10:00am. Can't imagine that OPM will close when Fairfax remains open.

That sucks! I’ll still hold out that OPM has better sense. DC was hit bad, right?

Ugh. I work with a bunch of martyrs so if we have to use unscheduled leave, I will be the only person on my team calling in because even getting out of my neighborhood would be too treacherous, let alone actually getting on the busier roads with all these other cars sliding every which way. Everyone else on my team will be like...we made poor decisions and risked the lives of everyone around us to come do work that honestly could have waited another day, because we are SO DEDICATED TO THE MISSION...why didn't you?
