Lol you have to pay even more then. The poor person has to drive around occoquan in rush hour to get there on time. That means hazard pay. Only half kidding . |
My ranch hand gets $25/hour when I can get him. He could raise his rates and still be booked out. And he's not having to be responsible for kids. |
I mean if you visit the Subreddit Choosing Beggars you'll see scrrrnshits of people posting looking for childcare for well under minimum wage.
Just because you ask for it doesn't mean you get it. And yeah, absolutely no way anyone would take that gig, not for that pay, hours, and duties. |
Illegal to have a young term working after 7pm. Also illegal to have a young teen work more than 3 hrs a day or 18 a week when school is in session. |
A young teen should not be doing hard labor daily from 5-9 pm. That’s illegal child labor and the state of Virginia agrees. |
As a parent myself, no way I'd be okay with a young teen working those hours either. I also have to question if it's enough even for a teen. I got $10/hr babysitting on weekends, no housework when I was a teen and that was nearly 20 years ago. With inflation, doesn't seem enough. |
5 to 9 availability means you can make way more doing anything with tips like restaurant server, Uber driver, etc. |
+1. I would be suspicious of anyone wiling to take it. That’s well under typical pay for that role. |
Some of you saying taking care of a 4yo is hard labor need to Google hard labor in N Korea or China…. You are nuts. |
Yeah, no kid will want to work those hours for that wage. |
No kid is allowed to work those hours |
dp We aren't in China or N. Korea. Still undesirable unless I lived right next door and even then it sounds very unappealing. |
I was even thinking 17-18 wouldn't want it. |
Its probably what she can afford. |
I'm in Ohio and the min here even for part-time is in the 20s. |
