Because BRYC use to get a lot of their players from VDA territory - not much anymore - so a lot of bitterness between parents, etc |
| FCV want BRYC spot, it won’t happen. ECNL doesn’t kick out clubs for a down year. |
It's not a down year - it's a 3 year trend. FCV will not get Bryc spot as long as they stay at evergreen |
FCV isn’t getting into ECNL regardless. BRYC had not been competitive in ECNL since their acceptance. Kicking out BRYC, denying FCV while adding a club like Beach would ultimately strengthen VA ECNL overall. Trading a NoVA club for a non NoVA club would consolidate talent in NoVA while adding a large untapped player pool in the VA Beach area. |
All options would be explored before taking a club out of the league, that includes partnerships. |
ECNL can’t create a partnership. All they can do is recommend one. It is likely that BRYC has already been approached about partnerships. There are few clubs left at this point that they can partner with. NoVA just doesn’t need 5 ECNL and 2 GA clubs. Someone has to go. It makes more sense to swap BRYC for another club in a area that is not so saturated. |
Untapped? Lol - they all go the Richmond - you didn't really think those were all Richmond kids did you? Trading Beach for BRYC is less likely than trading BRYC for SOCA....which is my guess |
And if those kids no longer needed to drive to Richmond do you think moving forward they still would do so? |
The issue with BRYC is that it does not draw top players. Those players from the area rather drive father to train/play at VDA, McLean and Arlington. To fix that they would need to make a change in leadership but that won’t happen. |
No idea how you know what ECNL will or will not do. |
The ECNL does not trade out clubs. BRYC will stay in, as they should. I would expect a merger with a smaller club to add to the player pool |
There are just not enough players to support 7 “elite” clubs. |
There are more than enough players, not every club will be strong nationally, that is okay… |
| Loudoun should be kicked out. |
What merger will help BRYC climb out a whole so deep? It's doesn't exists. I suspect real conversations have already occurred with management. There is only one real option - FCV moves to BRYC and establishes a true TSJ connection which will draw enough player to be competitive. This in turn will make Loudoun stronger and kill off GA in NOVA Virginia. |
