Nudity

In our non-american household nudity is a normal thing. Just being comfortable in the bodies we have. Husband and myself are naked before shower/after or while getting dressed and out teenagers have grown with that so they see it as normal. They used to be more open about their own nudity but now as they are teens they don't walk around the house naked are used to their nudist parents.

We don’t do this around our house.

But my concern for the casual attitude with nudity is maybe the teens will have a too-casual attitude about sexting?

Especially girls are at risk of being pressured to send nude selfies.

The other nudity risk is: it’s child porn it a photo ever happens, and that’s a felony offense.

This is silly. Totally not the same thing as showering with her brother and sister and I suspect your DD knows this. Your DDs attitude will change with puberty. I think you can just mostly wait this out. Maybe don’t encourage group showers but otherwise leave it alone.

Dh is European, perhaps that is why he hasn’t mentioned anything.

in CONTINENTAL Europe it's not a big thing, it IS a big thing a very big thing in Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Northern Ireland and England.

Not done past toddlers.

My kids don't shower together but my 11 year old boy and 9 year old girl, both pre-puberty, still walk from shower to bedroom naked most of the time.

See I would never describe a Brit or a Scot etc as “European”… so…

Same experience. I have two boys.

So for us, right around the age of 12.

actually yes. There are many countries in Europe. What is considered normal in the south of France wouldn’t translate elsewhere.

I mean, duh. I am from England and don't consider myself European either. The UK is a weird limbo place.

People from the UK don't consider themselves European and Continental Europeans don't consider them European either. Obviously the British Isles are considered part of the continent of Europe but that doesn't mean that they are "European". And that was even before Brexit.
And yes, each country in Europe has their own norms and customs. But there are people who are comfortable with nudity in most places regardless of culture or nationality.

That's so gross, no kid wants to see their old ass mom or dad naked.

Yep. I work for you a UK/US company and my first trip to London I was quite confused by all the references to Europe that clearly were not meant to include UK

I'm thinking this could become an issue for you if one of the kids mentions it at school. It may sound ridiculous to you, but I have known people to be investigated by CPS for similar or less.

It also could become a social pariah for your kids, getting teased for still showering for siblings.
