Can gray hair be bad ass?

check out #silversisters on instagram. There are some older models and lots of "real" people with gray hair of all lengths/styles, etc. I found it helpful to visualize some different styles (and yes, some of them are very bad-ass).

There’s a popular Instagram dedicated to stylish gray hair but I cannot recall the name. Maybe another poster can include a link.

Yes, buzz cut off the dye and you will start from very bad ass and then just let your hair grow in. Take care of it and love it. Loving yourself despite what anyone else thinks is the most bad ass of all.

If you are on Facebook, there are lots of groups for going gray. I’m sure the same can be said of all other social media. Bathe yourself in positive gray vibes and dispense with everything else.

This. Maybe find a better colorist who can work with your gray hair better? Very few people can pull this off. Gray hair is just texturally different--wirey, I guess.

Not all gray comes in wirey.

My hair has gone from super blonde, medium blonde, dark brown, and now back to a medium blonde. I fully expect to be silvery gray no later than 50. It is getting lighter each year and my dad's side goes completely white in their 40-50s. I'm done dying and highlighting, have been for about seven years. I keep it styled, but no reason to fight the color coming my way.

I have gray hair (like 80% white and a bit of the original black left in streaks) and I feel pretty bad ass most of the time. It fits me - I have never been particularly “pretty” but can pull off striking, and my hair is certainly striking. When I don’t pay attention to it my hair looks a little witchy. On it’s good days it makes strangers stop and gush, though. I’m late 40’s, for what it’s worth.

Team grey! Please pave the way and be a grey haired badass. I’m 38 and the greys are only just starting but I plan to go grey and not fight it.

I love my gray! Four years ago my hairdresser helped me grow the color out by cutting my hair into layers so that that awful color line wasn’t as obvious. It took about a year to finally get all the color out. My natural color is gorgeous. I’m about 60% gray. It blends nicely into my light brown hair. People ask me where I get my highlights done. It’s just my natural color at 54. I’m so glad I stopped coloring. My natural color fits me perfectly. Team gray!

I have gray curly hair and I wear it in a short asymmetrical haircut with undercut. I get lots of compliments from younger women.

I have a bold gray streak about an inch back from my forehead that I’d been hiding with the way I parted my hair. My (purple haired urban) stylist recently convinced me to change my part so the streak shows. I love it and I definitely feel like a bad ass with it.

A lot of DCUMers would probably see me and say really nasty things about my appearance - I don’t wear makeup and I do wear shorts and sleeveless shirts (and I’m over 40! Gasp!). But I feel pretty good about how I look, and I think that’s also pretty bad ass.

This link confirms grey will never be my look. It is aging. So far my blonde hair still looks blonde when clean... I know at some point I will need to figure out how to dye it- have never done it but willing to do it rather than look like this.

I don't think 'bad ass' is the term, but some people have beautiful, styled long grey/white hair- I've seen it- just not seeing it here.

just do a google image search of "beautiful gray haired women" or searches like that. Or "beautiful silver hair"

I got my inspiration from pics like that.

Also, google Al Franken's wife.

Check out @grombre on Instagram. I have dark brown hair and the gray has started creeping in slowly. My goal is to let it come like those women.
