Ok so I’m off by 0.2 miles then? You sound idiotic. Why are you so triggered by Lees Corner staying at Chantilly? It makes sense and I’m not even a Lees Corner parent. I have a hunch you are RIO trying to throw the heat off of yourself. |
Do you even know where Herndon High School is? It is on the other side of the Town of Herndon. It is not close. Westfield is not close. This high school should have been built years ago and you begrudge that to these kids? Who is the selfish one here? |
DP Just checked: Right now, Lees Corner is 4 minutes from Chantilly and 12 minutes to Westfield. That's triple the time. Bull Run is 12 minutes to Westfield and 12 minutes to Centreville. No difference. |
What does Lees Corner going to Chantilly or not have to do with the RIO people? |
Oh, I think I now see where this is going....... |
I'm not triggered by LCES staying at Chantilly, and I actually have a dog in this fight. What does concern me is hyperbolic statements and people who don't have a dog in the fight thinking their ridiculous statements have any weight. |
To take a neighborhoods that are extremely close to their current high school and move it to a high school that is much, much further away and separated from all the other neighborhoods attending to that school is just wrong. Chantilly is already losing one school. Take the kids who go to Cub Run and be done with it. Westfield has new construction to fill the space, as well. |
Someone mapped it from Lees Corner ES. In miles, it was closer. Why are you talking about random restaurants? You seem a little unhinged. |
You’re the selfish one, sweetheart. More than happy to waste money and inconvenience others so you can escape the schools you were already zoned for. |
You didn’t bother to answer that poster’s question. You shouldn’t call someone else “unhinged” when you can’t even follow a thread. |
Not your sweetheart, but I'm from a neighborhood that would be happy to stay at Chantilly--but we are being moved to Skyview. Why? Because it makes sense. And, we love Chantilly. I can also see that it makes sense for Lee's Corner to stay at Chantilly. Cannot see where I am being selfish at all. I just am very familiar with the area. |
|
Yes. Lee's Corner Elementary is closer to Westfield than Bull Run.
However, it is right across the road from Chantilly. Bull Run is equidistant in time from Westfield and Centreville. It is not close to either one. It also has kids who currently go to Westfield. You really cannot understand the difference? |
|
The Bull Run zone has many families who are much closer to Centreville HS, in miles and time, than Westfield. If you can't admit that indisputable fact, then you have no credibility.
|
Bull Run is already a split feeder so it’s obvious that eliminating the split feeder and sending all the school to Westfield makes sense. And then maybe they can scale back the over-the-top scope of the Centreville expansion. |
