+1. The game was well fought. The girls are all friends. The parents acted responsibly. Let’s keep it that way. Next week this thread will be back to the toxic usual. Let’s enjoy a nice weekend of soccer while we have it.

They are definitely not all friends but since FVU has never beaten VDA this really isn't a rivalry even with the players who switched. Everyone knew VDA would win. Agree that parents acted well but again no expectation that FVU would win. The real story is that VDA can't make champions league and FVU might not make a showcase.
with FVU its a bit more/less complex than that. poor preparation precedes poor performance.

The girls have 1hr practices on the level of an ECRL team on half a field for three days a week. Scrimmages and shots on goal are rare as catching a shiny pokemon. These practices consist of sprints where players are told they are out of shape and something posing as Rondos. Parents sent a letter with concerns to be ignored and suffer in silence. With that kind of prep it’s no wonder we tied the lowly Hammerheads. The real question is if the club is actually committed to this team or looking over the hill. 2011s were forgotten when it came to USYNT IDs and will also be missing for Kansas City showcase. Which wasn’t a mistake per the staff unless it was also forgotten and they are saving face. Strangely enough they broke their necks to sign them up for wags. All to say its a lot under the hood that can use a tune up. Girls did a decent job considering the prep so cut them some slack please. You guys probably have whole fields to practice on. Parents are probably too ashamed to admit it but the girls deserve better. They still have a chance to get a showcase if the investment planning and commitment to an actual game-plan is embraced.

GG on all sides. Looking forward to running it back for the cup game. Sorry if long winded, I just don't think the girls have been given a chance to play to their potential. Maybe Im being protective but please let us know what your practice is like. Genuinely curious.

Also that post sounds like a frustrated VDA parent or hating Arl parent agitator. Its a Lot of soccer left cup wise. The kids might pull it off so don’t speak so soon!! Also awesome sideline vibes parents. Even when the fouls happened you guys were chilled as white wine. Totally unexpected but much appreciated. This board would have you thinking its WW3 but the kids actually had fun playing each other.

Listen, no one is blaming the girls. They are just unable to compete with the top of MA. Nothing wrong with that.
ok arl dad. We hear you loud and clear. Nxt time we will scream at DB to stack the box if its a tie heading into the half.

Sheesh

Whether the PP is an Arlington dad or not are they wrong? As it stands now the FVU 11’s don’t have enough skill/athleticism to compete with the top of the MA bracket. It’s not the coach’s fault or only having half a field (which is the norm by the way). As much as we all want our kids to be the best they are not always going to be and that is ok.
all of the player that have skill/athleticism left..

I smell a troll post not from any of the players who left. They’re still friends with their former teammates. Move on!
this. Tons of athleticism on that team. Maybe it’s a childish coach that constantly deflects coaching shortcomings onto his players? Clearly most certainly not player parents after that very physical game. If someone is trying to drum up hatred towards a certain player that left the club like a bitter ex. Its weird&cringy and will eventually be exposed. Deflection posts on season results from staff are even worse. I truly hope its not staff kicking up dust. Hopefully just an angry GA parent or parent of cut players.

Regardless…Don’t feed the trolls. I find it ironic this board is discussing the ECNL demise of that club in another thread when this was posted. Go troll in that thread. Its much more intriguing.

On a side note maybe ill make a bet on Kalshi for which clubs lose or give up ecnl next season. Who’s interested?!

Also So far PP called it right this weekend.

There is some very good talent on that team. What they don’t have is depth. Getting rid of the nepotism picks and picking on pure talent could fix the problem.

Nepo picks is a requirement for DMV ECNL teams. Some coaches even start them.
dont forget carpools for the L. Gotta have the carpool buddies. Even it only gets me a showcase or no exposure at all.

The best players for FVU 11 are from NVA. Everyone knows that.
There is other talent on that team that can and does hold their own. And those nva girls cant win games by themselves. i see what you are trying to do however. Luckily the team isn’t toxic like that. Issue is not with the players. This whole package needs more time in the oven. Unfortunately they don’t have the time to figure it out and it will only get more competitive next season.

Btw. They only lost to CSA 0-2 put up a better than expected fight.

Weren’t all of you talking about how amazing they were going to be this season? Power rankings with them behind Arlington and talking about all of the new weapons acquired at tryouts? They’re going to be seniors in high school and you will be on here telling everyone to give it time to develop.

Also, for the carpool guy, who are you talking about? You keep bringing this up. Also these kids play ECNL. They’ll all have exposure. The fact that you think that the playoffs is the big exposure event shows how little you actually know about any of this. This is U15 also. Very few college coaches will watch 2011s. U16 is the big year.

FVU ?!?! Lmao nooooo that was clearly staff posting that Dark horse nonsense. Other than that it was the VDA side of the house claiming they could hang with Arl (and they did recently) yes they acquired new players. But clearly just like other teams it needs time and apparently leadership to gel. Cant just throw players together for 4hrs of practice a week and expect results without a plan. They are running out of time to figure it out. Next season WILL be brutal.

fixed. carpools struck a nerve eh. Truth hurts. All the clubs have them. GA included. It only falls apart when the season isn’t a winning season and teams get to look at themselves in the mirror and ask was it worth it. Lot of good talent in GA that got overlooked by all three teams. So far its worked out for one ECNL team as it has every year.

Agreed U16 and beyond is a big year. Hopefully TDs and coaches and parents take recruiting and team formations seriously heading into next season. I will be watching closely which GA teams make it far this season for ish talking. Also will also be checking this thread to see if anyone switches from ecnl next year. Might be some surprises.

Though t carpoolers were on VDA? Haha

Love the smack talk on here but now I have a serious question. What legit exposure will FVU have next year if they don’t make the natl showcase? The regional showcases? Serious question asking for a friend.

The best players for FVU 11 are from NVA. Everyone knows that.

Said the NVA parent. Keep driving the bus get the same results.

Wonder if they are getting the same nepo treatment they were getting at NVA. NVA is BIG on nepotism.

Love the smack talk on here but now I have a serious question. What legit exposure will FVU have next year if they don’t make the natl showcase? The regional showcases? Serious question asking for a friend.

Kansas City, Florida, North Carolina are the biggest recruiting events. You don’t qualify for them. You just sign up to go. Those are much bigger recruiting events than the playoffs.

Fairfax Virginia Union will play in all of the big showcases because they are in ECNL.

You all need to educate yourselves before you get on here and start giving your opinions on things you know nothing about

hi staffer. Are you saying that FVU2011Gs will be at these events? Because the app is saying otherwise. This is a 2011g chat. Please stay on topic. Gaslighting will get you trolled and flamed. Parents are saying otherwise and the app is in agreement.

For recruiting purposes these showcases are not relevant for any of the younger ages anyway. As with every year the focus will be on the current and next recruiting age groups - so college coaches will be at the 2009s and 2010s sidelines.
