For U15 games? None.

It is almost like families should not spend thousands of dollars at U15 to fly to a showcase when they are not showcasing against anymore. I never say this, but maybe FVU and Bethesda got this right for their 2011s.
iron sharpens iron stubborn staffer. Kiddos missed out on opportunities to play against talent from other regions. And FVU did send some players so please don’t gaslight for arguments sake. Trust, the kids would have rather been out at KC. Scouts or not it looks crazy for that team not to be there. Maybe a licensed coach could make that trip.

Cant speak for BSC. Maybe they haven’t got an all clear for recent new players.

This is an excellent point. Warmer places at later times maybe make more sense though

At least Kansas City is cheaper (including meals) and closer than going out to California. Only a two hour flight home! I’ll take it.

It was good competition all around. The fact that Arl’s win was because of two own goals of PDA players isn’t great but they hung in with top teams.

Richmond came out looking really good.

Asking honestly…how does it look good for VDA? With 1 goal scored and zero GD over 3 matches, how do you think that is looking good?

My impression is that ECNL tries to match up teams based on the same level of play, so you would expect close results whether it is Wilmington or Arlington playing. Overall the showcases seem to be a really good opportunity for players to demonstrate what they can do against a similar level of competition, and better in this regard than going to a local tournament where bracket placement is iffy and you can score 5-6 goals against a not-so-great team.
Another plus is that this is another opportunity to get film/highlights, and for players to promote themselves on the socials, regardless of how many coaches are actually on the sidelines. Is all that it worth the $$$ plus braving the cold and higher chances for injuries....jury is still out.

ECNL tries to match up teams based on level of play but it is true that some teams were playing teams ranked higher than them and some competing against teams ranked much lower. Results and "looking good" should be based on that

Arl will be fine. They had injuries and some kids didn’t play. Plus with the weather, any of the results could have gone either way for any of them under normal condition.
