Loudoun 08 is NOT a top team. |
| Sticking with 08 but switching gears for a bit. I am new as a soccer parent. What do you guys think about club that have players playing in the wrong team? For example #1 team and #2 team are about the same in skills. Some belongs and some don’t. Players/parents in #2 team don’t think it’s worth the money because no one knows who makes it after tryout until the team is form. Accepting the offer and investing more money without knowing who will be on the team is risky. Otherwise, the club can have a decent team and stop losing players to other clubs. |
Lets take VSA as an example: VDA 08 has not lost in ECNL VSA 08 RL has not lost in NPL and VSA 08 Red has not lost in NCSL Div 1. Those are three strong teams. Not sure if there is any movement/sharing of players between these teams. In this case would not worry too much which team your DD is on. Would worry more is she playing a lot of minutes and being a good team player and learning. If lesser team that your DD is on is struggling to compete in their league and you think your daughter can do better that is when it might be time for a change. But realize that your opinion of your own daughter may be biased and the club/coach may be right that your DD is where she belongs at least for now. |
| Many from the 2nd team been offer to join the first team. All have decline for the same reason as mentioned. Meanwhile, some players from team#1 joined the 2nd team and is on the bench. There is clearly a problem here. But wow GO VSA. |
We’re not 08 (couple years older) but we and 3 other teammates are leaving at the end of fall season. Can’t understand why my girls can’t receive professional development as they sell themselves only because they’re not wearing the ECNL patch after a 2,500 price tag. Disenchanted with the coaching or lack thereof. I feel conned. |
VDA 08 tied Richmond and Loudoun. Richmond has 5 wins and 1 draw with +23 goal difference, while VDA has 3 wins and 2 draws with +10 goal difference. Both are good teams, but I am not sure you can make a compelling case that VDA is better than Richmond based on their current record. |

I've seen most of the 2008 ECNL and GA teams play. My ranking
Richmond - top Virginia team Arlington/VDA - second group. This would be a good game Loudoun/McLean - third group. Middle of the road. These teams tied when they played. Game was even FCV/BRYC - fourth group. Both teams are up and coming. Play is inconsistent Metro - bottom |
I would combine your second and third groups together as there is not much difference between the teams. This season Loudoun tied VDA, McLean tied Loudoun. As far as I know Arlington did not play ECNL teams this season, but they lost to Loudoun and VSA (which is a feeder to VDA) last year. |

FCV is in second tier/group for sure they beat Arlington. They don’t play good soccer — it’s 70 mins of kickball.. 4-5 passes in a row connected the entire game but FCV is 2nd tier based on physical play alone.

Great job to them for beating Arlington's top team! They won that convincingly as well. |

There are enough head to head results for 08
1 - Richmond 2 - VDA/Loudoun/VSA 3 - McLean/FCV/Arlington 4 - Metro |
An argument doesn't need to be made. They play each other again November 7th. |
VSA (feeder to vda) is as good as vda and Loudoun? Better than McLean, fcv, Arlington? What? |
Yeah. VSA beat both FCV and Arlington this year. |
That was VDA. Most of the players were on VSA last year but this year they are on VDA. VSA tied Vienna. They did not beat Arlington. Arlington is markedly better this year that previous years. They would beat Loudoun this year. They would beat McLean this year and they did beat them last year. It would be interesting to see Arlington and VDA play. |
