I bet one of the officers told her to move. Blows the whole thing up.

If they had her saying threats or obscenities at ICE they would release it. I don’t think that is the conversation that happened.

Yep, if it was exonerating, they'd release it. My guess is they showed a scared woman attempting to comply with conflicting instructions.

The reported shooter is lucky. A search for Jonathan Ross still almost exclusively turns up hits for the UK comic and presenter.

I think today it sank in that he will face zero repercusiones and nothing is going to change. This feels like a new and accelerated time, because of the sheer willingness of the government to keep the arms flowing, married to the unwillingness to end sovereign immunity, money in politics, or seriously prosecuting insurrection and murder by state agents and politicians. For every humiliating Bob Menéndez trial, we have a Trump walking around and ruling or getting massive financial windfalls.

This isn’t Kent State. In 1970, you could not be tracked virtually round the clock and/or presumed to be a “terrorist” because you read a columnist or donate to the ACLU. This feels very, very different.

Kristi Noem accidentally doxxed him because she mentioned he was in a separate incident and people went straight to investigating.

Republicans have to reign in these ICE agents. They are out of control. The shooter should be charged with murder.

Protesters need to be more careful. You can’t block traffic, ignore orders to get out of the car, cause chaos and confusion by trying to speed off in your car without consequences. Those consequences shouldn’t be death but she should’ve gotten out of her car and accepted the citation or arrest if it was warranted. She made a bad situation worse. Then the shooter made it 10000x worse.

Before they approached her car, they were yelling at her to move it and she wouldn’t move. That’s why they approached it to pull her out. It’s terrible she was shot. Plenty of bad decisions made all around.

She was not shot. She was executed to send a message. This is how terrorism works.

It was a smart message to send, proof of concept for the midterms.

Democrats “overperforming” in specials and off-year elections doesn’t matter. The Republicans are keeping their powder dry. The federal investigations of Democrats fundraising hasn’t stated yet. The harassment of Democrat campaign workers hasn’t begun. The intimidation of Democrat voters is wildly premature for an election nine months away.

The shooting yesterday will intimidate protesters to back off and let ICE pick up whoever they wish. Do you really want to get shot to stop your neighbor’s gardener from being picked up?

Same holds for voting Democrat. Do you really want to show up in a heavily Democrat precinct when you’ll stand in line for hours? Face bomb threats from Moscow? Stand and walk in front of trigger-happy armed-to-the-teeth Republicans? Republicans working for ICE, Border Patrol, the National Guard, and other enforcement agencies. Men who volunteered to patrol your blue area during Early Voting and on Election Day?

Meanwhile Elon pulls out the stops yet again, in every way we know he can.

Yeah, so tell me all about that building Blue Wave. Fact is, you can’t build a blue wave if your blue wavers are too scared to walk out their front door.

That's not how it's going to play out. Every one of these incidents is further driving voters toward the Democrats, particularly with Independents.

+1

Even with many voters who like Trump's overall stance on immigration (or at least, what it was over 14 months ago) will not feel that he is doing a good job of implementing it.

They will never call him out on it
Yes they will and they already are. Some Trump voters are conservatives who felt they had no other option, and gave Trump a chance since his first admin was fairly sane. But this time around his cabinet secretaries are just horribly incompetent and now this shooting. Most of them have already realized that, even if they don't speak out.

Then they are fools who can't be relied on

Was it any secret what would happen in Trump's second term?

None, Trump was truth telling all over the place

They just kept telling themselves he was "joking." Now they don't like it. Too bad
It wasn’t obvious that this admin would blow up all the conventions that kept our nation and economy thriving. Trump's actions this year have been the opposite of conservative.

But we're only at the beginning of this slide into lawlessness. I hope more people now see this admin for what it is - RECKLESS!

Did you forget the part where Trump's senior staff PUBLISHED A BOOK with a title PROJECT 2025???
Trump said at the time that he had nothing to do with that. We know now that he lied to us.

Anyway, armed gunmen in masks walking around like they own the place wasn't what conservative voters wanted.

DP. In 2020, there was no GOP platform, so people literally voted for the whims of Trump. He didn't win, but he lied all through his first term, so it's pretty disingenuous for anyone to say that in 2025 a/ they didn't vote for this or b/ they didn't think he'd lie about P2025.

No he's not

There is technology that can be used

But then again what would we see? Middle aged white guy. How shocking

I’m amazed at the number of people who are comfortable antagonizing poorly trained, jacked up people with guns. It shouldn’t be this way but we’ve seen enough of police shooting people for me to wonder at the lack of self preservation.

If you’re gonna protest. Think about what you are doing. How you are doing it and what the possible outcomes might be. I know people will say it’s victim blaming but the only thing we can control is what we do.

Is there any way to hold him responsible? I know he has likely fled the state at the FBI will try to protect him...

If I was an ICE/BP agent, I'd be very scared for my family because people are going to start to take justice into their own hands...

I think the family can still file a civil lawsuit?

This is true. Injecting yourself in tense environments with unprofessional people carrying guns is definitely stupid.

Don't confuse the poorly trained ICE idiot with police officers. 99% of city and state police officers would never have discharged their weapon in this circumstance.

Why do ICE agents even have guns?

People quoting "moral politics" and other right wing propaganda slop are part of the problem. Get real news and not AI generated BS.

And what exactly are you cowards going to do?

Libs carry guns too

And ice cowards mask and drag women and children and defenseless people

When cornered by larger numbers they run

As seen in other cities

Sooooo no transparency from these MAGA clowns. An admission of guilt. Sad. Congress is dead.

Nobody is coming to save us.
