Political Discussion

I can’t get my head around how this election is this close and how folks are saying landslide for Trump. I am a moderate. I would vote a moderate R over someone like Bernie Sanders 100% of the time. But Trump just crosses a line. I just don’t understand the logic of someone voting for him let alone the real potential he might win.
Just the fact that I can’t logically fathom how someone could vote for Trump makes me think or want to think Harris will win. But when she doesn’t I think the cognitive dissonance is going to just shock us all. |
In what legal basis can they not certify the election? If she gets to 270 does it matter? If the SC does that they will usher in political violence. Scary. |
Legal basis went out the window with everything folks were trying in 2020. The argument that the state legislature actually determines the outcome was a huge piece of the 2020 coup…. |
I felt this way the first time and then he became president. And this time I went into it preparing myself for him to win. I was pretty resigned to it in July based on Biden's performance in the debate and just the general sense there was no way he could win re-election. And I was mentally preparing myself to accept it. But now I once again find myself shocked at the possibility. And not because i think Harris is just so amazing (though I do think she's runs the best campaign she could have under the circumstances). But because Trump is SO MUCH WORSE than I was even preparing myself for. He's just a malevolent clown. I am shocked that anyone with a brain or a conscience could look at Trump and then look at at Harris and vote for Trump at this point. Here's a nice, competent, fairly centrist (for a Dem), respectable, intelligent person. And then here's an old, angry, insane clown. You have to pick one. Who picks the clown?!?! Why?!?! |
| Trump because Harris has never been capable of winning an actual election. She wasn't even elected by the populace for this run. |
Hopefully there are enough decent people left, so it doesn’t go to the SC. So crazy that a minority rule is ruling this country. |
There are definitely states where I worry about the governor or legislature trying to send an "alternate slate" of electors if Harris wins the state. I am hoping for a landslide which would make this less practical -- if she just ekes out 270 then we are very vulnerable but if she gets 300+ I think it's far less likely that Trump's post-election shenanigans will work. Because he'd have to flip a bunch of states including ones where the Courts of Appeals are NOT friendly to Trump and would not just let him steamroll over the law. So here's hoping for a landslide for Harris. |
You people are truly spouting nonsense. Harris has won elections, idiot. You clearly do not understand how congress works, which is why you shouldn’t vote. |
She won two elections as California AG and then was elected to the US Senate. She was also on the Biden ticket that won the White House in 2020. Donald Trump has one a single election in his lifetime. One. |
I’m a moderate Democrat too, who finds Trump repugnant. But I get why his voters find him appealing, at least on an academic level. They feel utterly alienated by the Democrats. Populists, no matter how grotesque, have traditionally done well in US elections when voting populations feel alienated and unheard. It isn’t complicated. |
Hmm, I see. I think there is enough will to challenge any nonsense like that now because this election is bigger then Gore v Bush. I agree that it’s possible it’s a landslide and the only way forward without a challenge. But, the SC is truly corrupt…. |

I want trump and his economy back. Tired of the stupid regulations and overspending of the Biden administration. It’s causing a pinch across all Americans.
RFK is a bonus deal to Trump. Clean up our food supply |
| Trump is not in office. It is like 1000x harder to steal an election for that reason. |
Husband is voting for Harris on Nov. 5. He never misses an election, including primary elections. |
Not keeping up with the news, huh? Elon says we’re going to take a hit. Feel free to Google it. He said the tough times will only be for a couple years. It’s going to be an even bigger pinch, my friend. I suggest you follow the news more closely before voting. There’s tons of articles on it including on NBC and Rollinv Stone. |
