This. I know a lot of registered Democrats who vote Republican. This is a big thing in Maryland. It is useless to be registered as a Republican in Maryland. Registering as a Democrat allows you to vote and have impact in local elections.

It also doesn't seem to be based in reality. Democrats in Maryland have outperformed their registration percentages recent in presidential elections (54% of the registered voters being Democrats in 2016 and 2020 when Clinton got 60% of the vote and Biden 65%, 55% of registered voters being Democrats in 2012 when Obama got 61%). If anything Maryland looks like it has registered Republicans, Independents, or third parties voting for Democrats for President.

Not that any of this will matter a bit in this election.

I think Trump will win because Kamala Harris has snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Her campaign has made one blunder after another, and the whole strategy of keeping her away from lots of appearances and TV has really been the crowning screw up.

She also has spent way, wayyyyy too much time talking about Trump, instead of what HER vision and plans are.

There’s a million people on the news shows that go after Trump 24/7. That’s covered. She doesn’t need to do it herself.


The whole campaign has been a disaster. Joe Biden would’ve been better.

I am very confident Harris/Walz will win, there’s a well-coordinated GOTV campaign, the early voting is largely from Democratic strongholds, the campaign is extremely well-funded, broadly supported, and well-run. Trump, because Harris has done very little to reach out to the center where elections are won. Tim Walz just pushes her leftward. And there were just too many positions she articulated in 2019-20 that allowed Trump to define her as hopelessly liberal.

You can call Trump a right winger all you want, but he is a New York Republican who is not a social conservative and has defied the party orthodoxy on things like tariffs. Also not a Cheney style warmonger.

Plus Kamala can’t give a decent speech or an unscripted interview.
