Is the spring offensive just some drone attack on apartment buildings?

A good read for anyone thinking Ukraine has been inflicting 5X the casualties or the like: https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2023/05/29/two-weeks-at-the-front-in-ukraine

No one is thinking that

I know Ukraine isn’t suffering from French ww1 casualty rate so they can pin and grind down Russians for years as long as we keep giving them materiel.

If they are willing, why not?

And unlike the mujahadeen there is almost no risk of disgruntled Ukrainians becoming terrorists in the west. They arent built like that.

When Ukraine is exhausted then we can talk about settlements but honestly given the size of the country and people available, it’s possible to drag this on for 10+ years.

Ukraine war will spread to Russia. The bombings inside Russia will increase in frequency. The Ukrainians will soon be giving weapons and aid to other separatist groups in Russia. Those groups also had problems with sourcing arms, not any more. There are about 15-20 active groups within Russia right now. It will burn like a wild fire.

This is made from the same material as the fervent dreams you will bump into your ex while looking fabulous and thin.

Its heartwarming to know you are willing to fight to the last Ukrainian.

Ukraine is already throwing conscripts into the frontlines with mere days of training and old WW2 weapons. They predictably don't last very long.

The WSJ followed a group of 16 conscripts for 36 hours, during which time 11 were captured or killed: https://www.wsj.com/articles/36-hours-in-bakhmut-one-units-desperate-battle-to-hold-back-the-russians-72e30f01

The only grinding down happening here is of Ukrainians. Not everyone is happy with these sacrifices, and the regime's hold on power is becoming tenuous. Its been a long time since Zelensky set foot on Ukrainian soil for instance.

Agree. This is going to be a historical epic fail of a criminal based society.
Soviet Union lasted a little over 60 years, russian federation won’t make 30 years.

I wonder if the on line gambling apps will have odds on how long the next version of their syndicate will last..gotta be under 25 years at this rate for the next version of their society to implode.

LOL

Why don't you name some of these "active" groups? You don't need to list all fifteen. I'd be happy with seven. Go.

Russia will collapse, but I’m not persuaded a popular uprising will be the cause.

As I’ve posted before, GazProm, the Russian gas and oil company, has formed its own army.

How many US business companies do you know who have standing armies? (Other than maybe Blackwater).

The oligarchs are arming and preparing to fight. Once Russia is kicked out of Ukraine, who do you think all the armed groups will fight? (each other, obviously).

I grow more and more concerned about the possibility of Russia deploying nuclear weapons against Ukraine.
