Vaccinated ARE getting covid. So just saying if you want protection, get vaccinated does not work anymore.

Are you a troll? Or just honestly dense? The vaccines strongly protect against serious illness— the main thing we need them to do. Did you really not know that?

Are you a troll? Telling people they can't spread the coronavurus just because they had a vaccine 8 months ago is irresponsible AF.

Who said they can't spread COVID? The vaccines reduce the risk of infection and transmission, but certainly there's always a risk. Particularly in older/sicker people with weaker immune systems.

The point is that people that have been vaccinated are strongly protected from developing severe illness *if* they get infected. This isn't April of 2020 anymore. There are lots of thing people can do to protect themselves.

You're going to have to move past your zero COVID mentality. COVID will be circulating for the foreseeable future. We'll no sooner eradicate COVID than the common cold.

This.

In a school with 3200 kids and a few hundred staff members? If that is sustained it might get to the 5% threshold, but just barely.

They are symptomatic. Considering asymptomatic ones and symptomatic but not tested I would guess that it may be around 100 cases in one day. That is OMG.

Let it burn thru now. Cases will go down after this spike.

The schools should not close as long as restaurants and bars are open.

Who said they were symptomatic?

Even if there were 100 cases, why does it matter if the cases are almost always mild? People that are high risk for severe illness should adjust their behavior, not students.

LIKE PARENTS AND TEACHERS, DUMBASS?

My friend with kids in MCPS recently survived an aggressive cancer with massive chemo and a transplant procedure. He had to get all his childhood vaccines again, plus those for Covid and flu, but he is vulnerable for life.
I know teachers in that scenario too.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? Don't you understand that vulnerable people live in our community and cannot isolate completely?

Stupid moron.

Not depressing at all. This what we finally need for people to get over their silly fear of Covid

Newsflash: The flu shot and the covid19 shot don't currently match the strains going around the DMV.

Just in case anyone was still holding out hope that either did.

Why are people spreading disinformation? Are they trying to discourage vaccination? Are they trying to create panic?

It's the Russian troll farm folks.
