Josh Duggar arrested and in federal custody

Many people in Arkansas are predisposed to like the Duggars since they are local celebrities and generally have a wholesome image. It's really hard to mentally accept the fact that someone you think you know could do something so horrible.
There's also probably not a high level of technological sophistication, so who knows how they will interpret the evidence?

Literally nothing about that wacky cult is wholesome.

It’s been too long. Bad sign?

I've been refreshing reddit like crazy for the past 3 hours waiting to see if they've reached a verdict. I think it'll end up being a hung jury or guilty. No way all 12 of them will buy into the defense's smoke and mirrors.

It's been about 3 hours, and they started right at lunch, so I'm guessing the first hour was placing lunch orders and eating.

I was on a jury trial where we went into deliberations right around lunchtime. We all ate first before we did our first vote. We had zero discussion during the lunch period.

Perhaps they did something like that? Also, I was surprised at how long it took after we reached our verdict before we were brought back out for the reading of the verdict. I think that alone was maybe 45 mins to an hour.

Are we not going to find out today? (posted 6:25 EST). Or does it have to be decided today?

The jurors can stay at late as 10:00pm if they think they can reach a verdict tonight. They didn’t really start deliberating until after 1:30 central time. First, they had to go over the jury instructions. Given the gravity of the material they saw, they may need to talk it over and deal with the trauma of it all before they get into discussing the details of the case.

Judge sent the jury home. Man, oh man. So afraid he's going to get away with this.

I have a pit in my stomach that it's going to be a hung jury.

I read that the jury wanted to hear the tape of Josh speaking with the HSI agent again - the one where Josh asked if they were there because someone had been downloading CP.

The length of jury deliberations means absolutely nothing. No way to know what they’re thinking. He will likely be convicted.

I'm so afraid he's going to get away with this too. I trust the feds' work; I don't trust ... a jury of Duggar family peers, aka, literally uneducated people who reject facts and reasoning with ease and confidence.

I was so nervous last night that it would be a mistrial, since they didn't decide after 5 hours of deliberation. Looks like they just wanted to sleep on it. Finally, the Duggars face some consequences!
