Here is what the US Constitution says about impeachment:

Section 4

The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.

Here are the rules as they have evolved over the life of our republic


1) The House Judiciary Committee decides whether or not to proceed with impeachment. If they do...

2) The Chairman of the Judiciary Committee will propose a resolution calling for the Judiciary Committee to begin a formal inquiry into the issue of impeachment.

3) Based on their inquiry, the Judiciary Committee will send another resolution composed of one or more "Articles of Impeachment" to the full House stating that impeachment is warranted and why or that impeachment is not called for.

4) The Full House (probably operating under special floor rules set by the House Rules Committee) will debate and vote on each Article of Impeachment.

5) Should any one of the Articles of Impeachment be approved by a simple majority vote, the President will be "impeached." However, being impeached is sort of like being indicted for a crime. The president will remain in office pending the outcome of the Senate impeachment trial.

Right now, we are not even at #1.

So, no. Now, if the current "inquiry" yields facts that suggest that articles of impeachment should be drawn up, then we would get to #1 on this list.

The 2 20th century impeachments had special counsel reports to start from. This one, based on the Ukraine stuff, does not. The House had to start from scratch. That's why it's an "inquiry" right now, because perhaps a fuller investigation will show there's no basis for impeachment.

What the House is doing is 100% legal so stop whining.

Pence participated in some of the pressuring of Zelensky, by his abrupt decision not to attend Zelensky's confirmation. Also, he affirmed Trump's strategy when reporters asked him about it directly.

^^^ Adding, as an independent, I think President-Interim Speaker Pelosi is a really stupid thing. But the Republicans may well have brought it on themselves by refusing to tell Trump to obey the law. Any law.

1. Pence actually spoke to Zelenskyy at the time the White House and Guiliani were putting Ukraine under pressure, and his words can be interpreted to have the same sinister meaning as the President's phone call.
2. Pence is kept systematically informed of the President's phone call contents, and he didn't do anything about the Ukraine call.
3. Therefore he does appear tainted, however, I'm sure that in the unlikely event the GOP Senators wish to remove Trump, they will make sure that Pence stays on, if only to prevent Pelosi from becoming President temporarily.

They REALLY don't want his/her identity to be known. I suspect there is a reason, and it is not just to protect him/her.
