I've been he would be placed on a team that would either play in EDP or ODSL (Big gap, but that is besides the point). What wasn't clear was if would start in the Fall or Spring. Any idea? I've heard both.

So you don't know which league you would play in? Why would you agree to join if you have no idea what they are selling you?

Because their sales pitch isn't based on what league they're going to play in, it's based on the training they provide. As part of that, they say they will try to place teams where they can get competitive matches.

That won't be enough for everyone, and that's fine. If league placement is that important to some parents (and clearly it is, based on the number of "which league is better" questions posted on this board), Barca is probably not the right fit.

But they've always been very clear on what they're selling, and what they're not.

I disagree that Barca was clear on what it was selling. The announcement that some teams will be placed in ODSL took families by surprise and parents/players had no advance warning about the plan to join ODSL. Barca initially marketed itself as an elite level program and parents were told repeatedly at team meetings that the plan was to eventually compete at the national level in each age group. This winter Barca shifted its focus to increasing the revenue stream and added more players mid-season most of whom came from low level teams of other clubs. This further diluted the overall quality of the player pool and, thus, the quality of training.

Look at Barca's performance at Midatlantic Cup and make a coherent argument that the quality of their player pool was not diluted.

We can take the same curriculum from La Masia and use it on beginners. Just give it a year or two and they will catch up.

What's the thoughts on Barca joining CCL? Is this good or bad for the club? Seems like a weird fit.

They aren't joining the premiership division so it's seems like a weird fit but I like their choice I wish smaller clubs joins ccl2 as well

So it is their former ODSL teams joining CCL2?

I think it'll be most of their 2nd team or maybe even their first in ccl 2 it matters how good they are I guess

Are they leaving EDP entirely? Our kid has been playing EDP with them and we have been very happy with the competition there. They have moved up 2 divisions in the past 1.5 years and have been evenly matched. They also play a variety of different teams, not the same ones over and over like our kid that was in CCL.

Barca is in turmoil and will end up closing shop.

3k per year ain’t sustainable when you play intraclub scrimmages and ccl2. EDP for first teams, ok? Sure. Still. The place is a joke. The coaching mediocre. And evergreen is kicking them out of their field because they pay too late.

Barca families are in for a surprise in the coming 6-8 weeks.

In the parents meeting this week they said some teams will stay EDP. Probably the the better teams playing in EDP national league.

While I don't disagree that their price tag doesn't match their product (we tried them for a season and left), how could you possibly know that Evergreen is kicking them out. We still now families there and they haven't mentioned anything along those lines.

Were they passing around the plate for donations to pay the rent on evergreen.

Does this still hold true? Would love to see their older teams play...
