So what is Lin's strategy? He is lawyer to both John and Dr. Phil. Was making that John's last interview and Burke's first some sort of legal strategy?

Scatology is an indicator of emotional problems in children. It's interesting you think it's NOT relevant in a situation where a 6 year old child ended up dead.

Obviously, leaving balls of poop laying around is not normal for children of their age and development. Beyond that, I don't really know what to make of it. Not something I've ever had to deal with thank God.

It would be like a sibling being known for torturing animals and then one of the other siblings turns up dead and nobody makes the connection that it could be related. It's a HUGE indicator something was off.

Honestly I don't know. I would think that hurting animals would be a different sort of mental issue than anything that we've heard about the Ramseys.

With the poop thing there was probably a combination of physical issues (chronic constipation or whatever) combined with an emotional component.

Just wondering, did you watch the special? The housekeeper says something to the effect of he was saving it and rolling it into grapefruit sized balls and he wiped some on JonBenet's Christmas candy. That is NOT normal or even attributable to constipation.

I watched the CBS special but I got interrupted during that particular part. That is pretty freakin' horrifying. I can't imagine the adults knowing about this and not putting a stop to it.

I don't know. But he has already thought through the legal steps, what to expect if X/Y/Z happens and has concluded that it is in his clients' best interests to threaten a lawsuit. And he has advised his clients accordingly.

That was post murder. He may or may not have been pre murder but nobody knows because the Ramseys immediately had his medical records sealed.

I'm sure CBS knew they'd get sued. The special probably made them $10M-20M (?). If they have to give the brother a few million to go away it was worth it.

isnt this the strategy of any personal lawyer? its hardly an indicator of a legal genius. threatening lawsuits works many times. thats how he got the boulder da to "exonerate" the ramseys

I just started on the special, but is it possible that because the Ramsey's didn't heed the warning on the ransom note, the kidnapper killed JB? The note stated repeatedly not to contact authorities but the first thing they did was call the police.

I have now seen excerpts of Burke's interview w/ Dr. Phil. Burke really gave me the creeps! WTH was up with that sick smile?! I had never before considered that he might actually be the murderer, but it seems very plausible after all that I've read over the past several weeks and then seeing him answer Dr. Phil's questions. Who seriously thought it would be a good idea for Burke to go on national TV? He certainly did not do himself any favors with that interview.
