Op here. This has by far been the largest thread I have started, it's a surprise to see how many people were interested in this case and watching the television specials right along with me. |
Exactly, OP. We're all glad you started this thread except for maybe that one pp above (no idea why they even bother commenting at all). Obviously many are interested in the topic to have 4 recent JonBenet's specials on TV. Just within this thread I've gone from thinking Burke to intruder and am now back to Burke. |
This is the one thing keeping me from thinking the Ramseys staged it. I am pretty sure they did but it's just still so unbelievable to think they could've pulled that garrote so tight to leave those ligature marks on their child. I know they were trying to make it believable to police but it just seems that they would choose something less heinous for staging, rather than choosing to desecrate the body of their child. Also, if JB was knocked unconscious by a blow to the head from her brother, wouldn't the parents still feel a pulse, know she was breathing, and get help? I just can't imagine them thinking, "well she's brain dead, might as well strangle her." I'm sure Henry Lee explained this but I missed it. |
I've gone from Patsy, to maybe an intruder, back to Patsy, and now I think that Burke makes the most sense. It was a tragic inadvertent death, the parents were completely overwhelmed and devastated by what had happened to their daughter and then terrified of what would happen to their son. Such a sad situation. I feel as though the panel of experts on the CBS show tied up a lot of loose ends. There is further DNA/forensic testing available if Burke, in particular, ever needs more answers about what happened that night. |
Who killed Jon Benet? Had to be aliens. Somebody said they heard somebody say they saw a UFO near the Ramsay house so it had to be aliens came down and tore open Jon Benet in a clumsy attempt at dissection. Aliens may not be as smart as we think they are. |
Something tells me Burke of all people doesn't need more answers, LOL. |
It would be like a sibling being known for torturing animals and then one of the other siblings turns up dead and nobody makes the connection that it could be related. It's a HUGE indicator something was off. |
This is sort of inconsequential but one thing that really surprised me from all the crime scene video/pictures they showed was how unkempt and messy that house was. For being a multi-million dollar home owned by wealthy people it was a pit! Crap everywhere and the house itself on the outside is beautiful but really didn't seem all that nice on the inside. Just something that stuck out to me, totally unrelated to the murder itself obviously. |
I'm thinking it could be simply John if he did the garrote -- his strength on a small child would make such marks and also the post death discoloration.
But if you do say that Burke may have started the strangulation -- say he was angry he hits her and starts stanguling her with a stick that he has tied some rope on for whatever reason -- clearly it was not designed as his type of weapon but maybe it's a slingshot. It could have caused initial marks - this could have been the reason they chose to garrote. Remember the train track marks from poking her to see if she was alive -- the CBS examiner asked whether an adult would need to poke someone to see if they were alive and the answer is no, they would've felt her pulse. So this leads to The parents not discovering her for some time likely the span of an hour perhaps. |
One more thing -- TMZ says Burke and Lin Wood will sue CBS. Would that not open up a can of worms that Burke and the family do not need opened? |
Honestly I don't know. I would think that hurting animals would be a different sort of mental issue than anything that we've heard about the Ramseys. With the poop thing there was probably a combination of physical issues (chronic constipation or whatever) combined with an emotional component. |
Oh totally. I also read another theory that that's exactly why the people in the CBS special pushed it so far ![]() |
Sadly, this ties back to their lives -- they were perfect on the outside but inside, they were imperfect in many ways- broken, torn and projecting an image of nothing being wrong . But yes, I noticed the same. |
Just wondering, did you watch the special? The housekeeper says something to the effect of he was saving it and rolling it into grapefruit sized balls and he wiped some on JonBenet's Christmas candy. That is NOT normal or even attributable to constipation. |
Lin Wood is 5000 steps ahead of anyone. He's thought it through you can bet that. |
