Post Friday Top Ten as a snapshot
1. Bullis - still the top roster and winning games 2. Landon - 30 seconds from undefeated 3. Georgetown Prep - winning streak plus talent but a loss tomorrow negates the GZ win and down to 4 4. Gonzaga - can swap with the Bears this week 5. DeMatha - One loss from 4 6. St. John's - has to wait until the last game to jump purple 7. Good Counsel - needs a program win 8. Heights - needs a win over STA to stay top 10 9. Episcopal High School - Competitive and a head to head over PVI 10. Langley - some pretty good club players on the roster |
| Pretty sure EHS is better than the Heights |
Swap Episcopal with The Heights. The Cavs don't have a quality win. Episcopal has a good win over PVI and PVI smoked the Heights. Either Bullis is in a league of their own this spring, there is parity across the board, or there are no super strong squads this year. Let's look at some results from yesterday. 1. Landon only beats STA by 4 goals. (11-7). A few seasons ago, Landon has a borderline running clock 2. SJC in a one game with PVI and the Panthers are pretty ordinary this year. Just a few seasons ago, Cadets are having their way with the Panthers 3 Prep has a 1 goal lead over EHS at halftime. Hoyas don't look that impressive on tape, either. 4. Gonzaga only beats the Heights 10-4 yesterday. Just a couple of seasons ago, GZ would be beating the Heights by 10+ Maybe this is a good thing for area lacrosse to have parity everywhere. The Baltimore-based MIAA is simply better than the IAC and WCAC this Spring. |
| Bullis vs Landon is next week? Anyone know date/time? Hopeful livestream is posted, thanks in advance. |
| Heights vs STA prediction? |
Haha! Langley's most impressive win of the season is 8-3 over Sidwell Friends. Ryken (8-3) beat DeMatha and lost tough games to #6 SJC and Mt. St. Joe's (who would easily be #3 on this list) and #8 Heights? PVI could put up 30+ on Langley and win by 25. |
| lol. This guy has been throwing in the heights and public troll for 2 months. Dcum is that uptight. |

—— As an aside, the Heights has 1/3 of the roster size as GZ. Good for them to be successfully working with the players they have on campus. That is more impressive than cherry picking players from a 50 man roster with many who never play a game imo. |
I’m sure it will be streamed and game is Thursday at 7:00 at Bullis. This will determine if Bullis is the real deal or just pretenders. Will they beat the Bears to separate themselves. |
|
Will also determine if the Bears are pretenders or not with their random Florida win |

Landon’s best win this year might be against MSJ if you believe it.
The Gaels should have beat BL on Friday. |
Bullis partisan here. Proudly so. And it is obvious that for the 24-25 season, there’s us and Landon, then a medium drop to SJC, then a Grand Canyon of lacrosse competence, consistency and ability, and then the remaining 8 spots or 3 tiers or whatever else you want to use to quantify your own team’s place in the firmament. So, argue away over Episcopal vs PVI vs Heights vs [insert high mediocrity here] for the thinnest kid at fat camp trophy. Definitely could change by end of season, and definitely will change year over year. But this is the truth right now, supported by the evidence. There’s talent here in the DMV. A lot of it. Just looking at both GP, PVI, DeMatha and Gonzaga alone, they have some kids who really are good and get after it. It’s on the coaches to gel the players he has and make them play together. MIAA seems like it has figured that out. We haven’t, this year anyway. This isn’t an anti-club diatribe. No point in that unless you want to start writing checks to support rec, or not whine if local or county taxes go up a little to support it. Club isn’t going anywhere, and is only gonna continue to define youth sports, bc there’s a buck in it and this is America. So coaches need to adjust to this, or leave and talk about the 2010’s when DMV HS lax was a deep power. |
I am an IAC homer and Landon might be better than other teams but they are not good. Their goalie is weak, their defense is weak and they are really a “one player with a couple of set up men” on offense kind of team. Spalding is a good team. Bullis should cruise through the mediocrity to become the one eyed man who is king. |
| GP play Radnor today? Or is that a misprint on Inside Lacrosse? |
