Great job creating more manufacturing jobs!
FYI this blog post explaining why tariffs won't bring manufacturing back to the US written by a manufacturing entrepreneur.

Some of the ones that stuck in my head:

Even with high tariffs, it's still cheaper to make stuff overseas.

The supply chain for industrial materials doesn't exist here anymore. So couldn't make most things even if wanted to.

Americans don't want to do manufacturing jobs, aren't even healthy enough to endure them, and would need to move rural where the factory is.

No one wants to build a factory in the US now because the rules (including tariffs) that will determine their profit/costs can change in a single tweet.

Here’s China’s take on the future of American manufacturing. Especially love the guy chomping on his burger while sewing.

It's funny but makes me sad for how our country is the laughing stock of the world. One word - impeach.

It is sad to see how the world views us.

Does that also mean that there will be “empty shelves” starting in May? That’s only a few weeks away. Astonishing how ignorant Trump is.

Yes, the supply chains will be broken again.

It is something Donald appears to be very good at.

But during Donald’s first attempt to destroy America, there were a lot of people in his administration ensuring things were running as well as possible. And then of course Biden came in less than a year and worked with the rest of the world to fix things. We don’t have that this time around. I’m only half jokingly thinking about a victory garden at this point.

All of this. I keep wondering whether we’d be better off if they had all just let Trump be Trump the first time and then this would all be over.

No, you would have been better off if fewer people voted for him.

I am really worried about the looming financial crisis. I don’t think people understand how COVID could’ve triggered a global financial crisis and it was through heavy government intervention that we made it through. Now the regulators are a disaster— as is the government in general.

It’s bad. Globally, stock markets have stabilized/gone up. U.S. just going down. China is telling other countries not to diss it in trying to curry favor with the United States. Most disturbingly, the dollar is down. What a colossal fool Trump is. And where is the GOP Congress???
