BB setting that guy up makes no sense, which is why FCPD is just sweating people like AU, which they can do because she’s an immigrant with a visa. By all accounts BB is intelligent and this has got to be the dumbest possible way to stage a murder. Like if you googled “how to get caught”. And it’s so public, murder is one of those crimes police will investigate endlessly. You might as well get naked and stand on the rooftop, because everything about your past is going to come out.
Why would anyone intelligent trust a Au Pair to assist with murder and hold it down against the US Justice System? Why would anyone think a Double Murder is going to get quietly swept under the rug? Who would want to live through the public scrutiny, the police scrutiny, the trauma, the stress, etc etc? Only an idiot would think this was a better option. The truth is most likely they walked into a messy situation and there’s no plot, just people reacting. |
Explain why BB erased all things w/r to his wife and her family after the murder. Why did he have the au pair move into the couples former bedroom, acting as his new partner, even putting pictures of them together in the room, as if they are the parents of household? Is this how a grieving husband AND father who witnessed his wife’s murder by a stranger normally acts? |
Beats me. But if the last thing my wife did before dying was bang another dude, and my last image of her was seeing her covered in blood getting loaded into an ambulance, It would be pretty difficult to look at her pictures. And I’d be motivated to move on a little quicker, just for the comfort.
Also we don’t know what their relationship was like. They could have been an outwardly happy couple for outward appearances with a dead bedroom, open relationship, or other non-traditional arrangement. |
How you get them is how you lose them often does play out, and in this case, yikes, pretty grim way to go. I feel so bad for the child and Christine and Joe and their families. Christine's family being cut off from the little girl must be torture. |
The whole thing could have been a ruse to lure a pasty there to take the fall. Don't make assumptions that support the murder plot until all the facts are out. |
I suspect that is why he had her fire the gun, to keep her mouth shut. He strikes me as someone who thinks he's the smartest one in the room. The Robert Wone story made no sense but, 3 stab wounds, 3 adults in home, all are free. Sometimes people can brazen out a dumb story. Joe Price and BB are likely on the spath spectrum. I hope Fairfax has a more just outcome for Joe. |
Neither LE nor Commonwealth of VA has alleged any such thing. Are there astroturfers trying to taint the local jury pool? |
I’m thinking there is at least one person on this thread that has an agenda to support BB. |
It does make sense honestly. It’s classic husband murder. They thought they had it buttoned up. They obviously were smart enough about it that he hasn’t been charged, but there’s no way a guy who didn’t murder his wife in this situation stays in a relationship with the au pair. |
Same. That previous post described things that aren’t public information (if even true) and also characterized JR as “mean looking,” as if that means something. Remember in the Idaho murder case when we later found out that the murderer was on Reddit, talking about the murder and steering the conversation? Kinda reminds me of that… |
Cops and prosecutors often ignore intimate partner murders and sympathize with the male perpetrator. |
There was another murder with the same fact pattern, so, it has happened before. Linked upthread and discussed earlier. For all we know, one of them heard about it. He was free for many years before arrest. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Winger |
Agreed. Had she rematched with a different family after the tragedy, or left the Au pair program to return to Brazil, their story might look more plausible. But we are supposed to believe they stumbled upon this mess, killed an intruder in self defense, watched CB die and then oops fell in love?!? Within months? A 23 year old Brazilian with no formal education and a middle aged IRS agent with a kid? Ok sure. |
Not this time, Maybe he thought as IRS LE they would be deferential? His not speaking to detectives seemed to get their attention. From day 1 they said the perpetrators were known to them and accounted for, the press conference is on YT. |
Same. We'll know more about the scene next week. |
