How very presidential of her. Instead of doing some good during the AZ shooting aftermath, she was busy defending her words, and now defending the defense of her words.
No wonder only 30% of America agrees with her. |

| I've never understood why so many people hate Palin. She's not the most intelligent politician in this country, but she is far from the least. Underqualified for VP, in my view, but not so much less experienced than Obama that I don't understand the radically different standards people apply to them. I think it's class prejudice, but perhaps there are other reasons. I don't think she should shut up, because, whether or not you agree with her point of view, she has done nothing wrong. |

100% agree. she has her crowd of supporters and she has made some good point, and she is harmless. she has zero chance for the nomination. we need to realize that there are a lot of people in this country who don't live in NYC or LA or DC, and she represents them very well. it is a good thing she has come to the table. |

True, she's not the most intelligent politician in the country. Neither were Bush Jr. and Sr., Reagan, Ford, Nixon, Eisenhower. Actually, I think Nixon wasn't an idiot, just evil. Wow! Looky here. They are all Republicans.

Obama is a smart person. Palin is not. And the point of the post is not whether she should shut up, but whether this is the kind of leadership we can expect out of her. |

Eisenhower and Ford were not intelligent????? I'd argue both Reagan and Bush were way more intelligent than Obama as well, but to put Ford and Ike in there just shows your silliness ... |

I'm surprised you move so quickly to the judgment that Palin is not at least reasonably intelligent. Someone who started where she did, and ended up where she is now, should be given the benefit of the doubt on that point. She's really been quite a success. I think that many people use her lower-class mannerisms and patterns of speech as a proxy for her intelligence, and that's unfair. I don't think that she is as intelligent as Obama, but do think she's a lot brighter than most people give her credit for. Sure, she's made a few indefensible verbal gaffes, but so has almost every politician -- e.g. Biden. For the record, I won't be voting for her for anything, but I think she is subject to a vastly different standard than almost every other public figure, and I think that is largely driven by class markers. |

| Some people who don't like Palin have similar reasons as Europeans who don't like America. She is bold, brash ,confident , heterosexual , beautiful , in charge, self sufficient, has big dreams, loves cars, boats, planes, snowmobiles, keeps in shape, and Is always there capable and with a gun when you need to run to her for protection. |
