FVU only puts one team on a field for practices? |
I just can’t believe FVU only practices for 1 hour 3x a week. |
It's a county thing. Clubs in other counties are able to practice later into the evenings which opens up additional sessions when you can schedule them beyond 9pm. FFX has the issue of FXA and has to relinquish the fields to adult sports after a certain time at a lot of county facilities. |
Makes sense, but why not start practice 30 minutes earlier? You are losing a lot of touches over the course of a year. |
Time to move clubs…most of the big Loudoun/PW County clubs are getting 5+ hours per week in training. |
There are two 1:15 practices and one that is 1:30. The original poster took some liberties when listing reasons. |
This was only an issue that bubbles up during the summer. MYS pulled out and everything changed. No more Nike park etc. FVU has less fields to choose from but it seems to affect the girls more than boys. Regardless dont hide behind ffx in this. As Strangely enough MYS, ASA, SYC, ARL etc etc don't have these problems. Can they say they are meeting ECNL standards with this quality of practice? Maybe. Maybe not. Not all the teams are doing horrible. Maybe we will find out at Jeff Cup. Fear the brave!! |
i want to see this letter. It sounds juicy. Cant remember hearing of any other clubs getting team letters. |
ASA isn't in FFX, neither is ARL. MYS is one id be interested to hear from actual parents but maybe they figured something out, they certainly have the money to figure it out I would bet. SYC does not do 4 field sessions for GA, don't get that twisted, and their 4th session they do use in a gym you have to pay à la carte. |
Ok that makes more sense. Still 30 mins per week shy of other clubs |
McLean has 3 practices a week too. Two of which are on about a third of a field. The rest of fall, two of the practices have been shortened to 1 hour only. It seems other sports have taken up some of the available turf. |
