$7/gallon gas is coming

Even Alexa has the ability to understand the difference between aspirational campaign rhetoric and reality.

What a misleading graphic.

Trump entered office after Obama.....and we know Obama was not a fan of big oil.
He increased the production of oil, which does not occur instantaneously.

According to the US Energy Information Administration, this is the production: (annual thousand barrels/day)

2016: 8844
2017: 9357
2018: 10,941
2019: 12,289
2020: 11,283
2021: 11,188

https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/pet_crd_crpdn_adc_mbblpd_a.htm

So, what I see is increasing production under Trump with a small dip the year of the pandemic.
And, I notice that Biden's first year in office didn't even equal the amount produced the worst year of the pandemic.

Even Alexa knows that "aspirational campaign rhetoric" has an effect on industry and behavior.
Hell.... look at our southern border to see what his "aspirational campaign rhetoric" has wrought.

Refinery capacity is the most significant bottleneck affecting supply at the moment. Capacity dropped between 730,000-1,000,000 barrels a day since 2020 as the result of the closure of six facilities due age, lack of profitability, environmental issues or other factors. Obviously that’s the fault of … checks notes … Biden, sho took office in January 2021.

The US can’t drill its way out of the current market imbalance regardless of how much oil is released from the strategic reserve or capacity brought back online by OPEC. Americans need to find ways to conserve.

So you are saying trump controlled the US oil industry? I love when conservatives think the US president sits in his office and controls each section of the economy. Bet trump picked up the phone and called the guy in charge oil production. After a lengthy and in-depth phone Conversation trump orders oil production to be 0.8% of last years numbers during a pandemic…..

We know Trump picked up the phone to tell MBS to cut KSA oil production by 10.000.000 barrels/day and MBS passed on the message to Putin.

Biden is a sell out. He sells out American values on human rights and the environment to buy oil and products from countries that we know violate human rights of women and gay people and have less rigorous environmental standards and he does it in exchange for support from progressives who want the US to stop producing petroleum products. These “progressives” don’t care about human rights worldwide or environmental impacts in other countries. Biggest stupid phonies ever.

It takes refineries a while to ramp up production. They slowed down for the pandemic. They are now keeping it slow bc they are afraid no one is going to be driving as much post pandemic because less people commute. They also believe that there will be more restrictions. It doesn't matter whether that is true, it is what they believe to be true and since production ramp up and ramp down takes time they calculate risks many months to years out. If Trump had remained in office, I would guess they wouldn't fear additional regulation so would have been willing to remain consistent with level of production with a slight rise for 2022 and 2023. Gas prices would still be higher than 2019 but we would be looking at an increase still measured in cents vs. measured in dollars.

That's what Obama said when he was President.

Democrats like Joe Biden want higher gas prices as a matter of policy, but do not want it to hurt them politically.

We warned you.

They’d be even higher if orange fatso was still in office, because he’d be grifting the higher prices

That's great, but it's much easier to blame the guy in charge
