I do this to myself often - convince myself that we are TOTALLY going to win Mega Millions every time the pot gets obscenely large. DH asked me if I would quit my job if we won (hmmm maybe?) and then asked where we should buy a house and I had no clue. We live in Arlington and I love it here - I like being close(r) to the city than say, McLean or Great Falls or whatever (this is lotto winning me talking - we rent, McLean will never be a legit option, etc). Anyways as I dream I'm wondering if you were to stay in DC and money was no object, where would you live?? |
Big Victorian in Garrett Park or possibly move to San Francisco, where just maybe with my $200 million after taxes, I could afford to buy a house.
I would definitely quit my job. Immediately. |
I would quit my job and move to Portland, Maine or Burlington, VT. |
I would stay in the area and travel often, I would only buy a beach and ski house but other places jsut stay in the best resorts etc. I would go to work few a week or so and clean out my office and accidently throw a lot of stuff out that is important and not worry about it |
Hawaii! |
New York City if my mother was still alive, Paris if she were not. |
Arlington or any other area with decent public schools. Alexandria has beautiful homes, but the schools are awful. All I could afford to buy now is in terrible school districts. I rent solely because of this. |
Hawaii |
Key West |
New York City and Darien, CT. With a ski house out west. |
Unlimited funds? Apartment in NYC, house in the Pacific Northwest. |
I would retire to a college town and take classes just because I can. Hopefully somewhere warm. |
San Francisco with a ski house in Colorado. |
Beach house in Thailand, apartment Chicago and continue teaching classes/workshops as I feel like. DC would go to private school so good public school districts would not be a consideration. |
apartment *in* Chicago |
