house in remote colorado (high class of course) and a beach house on the east coast and southern europe.. quite my job - kids private schools and hubbie can relax on his job being so unstable (I'd try to go p/t or quit mine though it';s a great place- more that I want to be there for the kids).

hate to disappoint, but I *AM* winning the mega millions jackpot. And I'm buying a house in the Edgemoor neighborhood of Bethesda, a beach house in Rehoboth, a NYC apt, a flat in London AND a new Honda Odyssey. But I'm also going to host DC's first DCUM blowout party and you are all invited. And you all get a hotel room for the night. And I'm paying for the babysitting.

Stay where we are and buy a nice second home in CA but spend 99% of our time at said second home.

I would just NOT stay here.... The only reason we are here is because DH has a well paying job. If I were to win this, I would send my husband to work (without telling him first) with a note in his lunch letting him know we were now millionaires and that he had the option to give all of his coworkers and bosses the biggest fuck you he could think of, and than we'd decide together where we were going to live. It would most likely be near family in a big ass house.

It would depend on finding the right house. Neighborhoods I would start with include Chevy Chase, MD, Mass Ave Heights, Spring Valley and Cleveland Park. Then a beach house, probably in South Carolina. Key for the DC house, besides finding one I really like, would be good commute to school. Kids are already in private (we live in DC), so we don't have to worry about changing schools just because we move.
