No more TF contract. All of the coaches are GFR employees now. Exactly as it was planned by MN and RS when they made the agreement for GFR to absorb DMV’s coaches, players and technical staff. It was honestly a great move for everyone involved and the benefit to GFR will be felt for years to come

While NM and ML coaches at BSC too? The GFR 2014G were “training” with the BSC 2014G in the fall at their indoor facility so the BSC coach can get a look and identify players. But I’m sure it will benefit GFR for years! No conflict of interest there. 2015G picked clean this past year due to NM drama, 2014G picked clean the year before with new coach ML drama. 2016G and 2017G RS and NM hate on FA coaching drama. Yes great foundation for years to come for GFR. BSC, MCLN, ARL, and LOUD thank GFR very very much.

The 2014G team that were "picked clean" according to you are 2nd in their table in pre-ECNL. ML must really be one of the best coaches in nova.

Try tied for second with Valor. Not one big club team is even playing in this “power” league. ARL? LOUD? Not even MCLN. Looks like win padding vs low hanging fruit to anyone who knows the soccer landscape. Second bracket at WAGS and still can’t win. Yes that is best coach in nova material. Pathetic.

Actually ARL, VDA, and Richmond (and several other VA teams that top out at NL) are in the league. Think they probably count as “big club teams.” LOUD and MCLN aren’t bc they are off playing GA bunnies instead of real competition. Tied for second is still second.

And the team was in the top bracket in WAGS, made the final, and was in a 0-0 final against a highly ranked PGH team, lost in sudden death penalties on the 6th shooter, essentially a coin toss.

This all can be easily confirmed on GotSport. But I guess you never let facts get in the way of your agenda.

That you are so desperate to push your agenda that you need to make up facts about a team of 10 &11 y.o. kids I think shows everyone how reliable your judgement is.

They were not in the top bracket which was "CUP". They were in "A' beneath Cup (the WAGS tournament website will confirm that). Yes the ARL is in your league oh but wait..they are U11! I guess reading is not fundamental where you come from. Oh and you did lose to Valor and Richmond both 1st and 2nd, so again go beat on the low hanging fruit and call yourself the best coach ever. Doesnt change the fact many players left months after ML and the team since.

"They're not second, they're tied for second." The ML and NM haters never disappoint!

No hate at all. Just cutting the grass so everyone sees the snakes. Show loyalty to GFR or leave. We pay ML and NM but they coach at Bethesda too. No conflict of interest here and how does this not violate their non-compete agreement?

No conflict at all unless GFR had iits own pathway to NL. Or do you think the girls shouldn’t be exposed to these opportunities just to keep their money in house? Real coaches want their players to have the best opportunities possible even if that’s with another team. But it sounds like you’re coming from a viewpoint that prioritizes the club over the players.

Coaches coach multiple clubs all the time. So long as they can meet their obligations to each team and their in different leagues who cares?

If you put out a good product and opportunities, no need to go elsewhere was my point. I guess that is beyond your comprehension. So these real coaches would encourage players to go elsewhere for the best opportunities instead of providing it themselves? hmmmmm looks like a definte conflict of interest now.

You seem mad. Yes, I'm sure there is no ECNL-NL talent in the pre-ECNL league, haha.

Mad? Don't flatter yourself. Just laying out the facts that you try to hide that's all. The GFR 2014G were a very good team 2 years ago with a lot of talented players. The previous coach created a team with so much potential and establishing a solid foundation to the club. Funny how the talent left after a couple of months with ML. No one asks why? Was it training? Coaching style? Who knows. But everyone knows the best coaches don't lose players during the season unless they are not the "best' coach. Keep playing Stafford, VYS, the other 'talent' and avoid getting exposed by the clubs ML tries to avoid in VA. Definitely the "best" coach in Nova. BTW, if he is the best coach in Nova, then why do they not play the best teams in Nova? Don't bother with a retort, you will just embarrass yourself and ML even more.

“A very good team 2 years ago” at 9 y.o.? Haha. They won a lot of games but think they are developing more individually and playing better as a team now. Winning at 9 is not the same thing as developing to win at 15+. Happy that ML and NM have a longer term perspective.

Nowhere did i mention WINNING about the team 2 years ago. I mentioned talent, potential and establishing a solid foundation. Read and comprehend! I know its really hard but if you focus and google some words you might get it. My point is if you consistently lose players and dont play the better teams, the development will be slow and not at its full potential, unlike previously.

You sound like you have a personal axe to grind. You keep saying "many" and "months," but neither of those are true. What are they down, 3 from the beginning of last year? I think 2 of those left before the season even started because they wanted to play a year up and were blocked by the GFR 2013s.

This is so hilarious. The same people that are dogging the RL league are trying to sell a new club that is run by a guy that coached a magnificent season of 0 wins in the RL.

I don't think you understand what a conflict of interest is. But do go on and enlighten us.

Are they the best of the best of the best of the best (seems to be the bar around here)? No, but do they need to be to still be developing as players and a team for the long term? Are the players doing that on their own or can we acknowledge that probably takes some good coaching too?

Who here is actually rooting for their success? Hopefully at the least the ones that like to point out they are only 11 when downplaying their successes. And hopefully at least their former coach.

There is no doubt the former coach loves them and misses them all very very much. She still to this day talks so fondly of them. You are right, not everyone left and that says something about those players. I was one of this teams biggest fans back then. I would go out of my way to watch them. After the the switch, and what i saw at the Bethesda tournament last year was to be frank, very sad. The spark was gone, no swag, no confidence. Again there was so much potential there and to see it extinguished was heartbreaking. I hope they can get back to the promise and potential they once had. But there has to be some change in order for that to happen unfortunately.

Maybe he can win a game in EDP or wherever they will have to play.

This is hilarious on a number of levels that only those intimately involved will understand. But the fact that we are talking about a very successful team with a great coach that everyone on the team loves like they are an 0-10 bottom feeder is some kind of spin folks.

They are 7-2-1 and lost “to Valor and Richmond both 1st and 2nd”? Someone’s maths aren’t math-ing. Must really have an agenda to push about a team of 11 y.o. girls. They played the teams in their league. Every league has stronger and weaker teams. It’s the top league for 2014 girls in Virgina. What else are they supposed to do?

Players move all the time in every club. Parents think the grass is greener. More power to them if it works out. I’m more concerned about how the coach is doing to develop the girls who stayed. By that measure ML is doing just fine. Team is playing well together, developing, and competitive against top teams even though GFR is “only” an RL club.

Someone seems to have a thing about the TF coaches but I’ve seen NM, ML, JG, JB, and TV first hand. No coach is perfect but collectively they were a great get for GFR. They care about individual development over winning and develop the girls to play a possession style game that will serve them well at older ages instead of trying to win with kickball. If the club has to make a choice between them and the RP holdovers I know who I’d pick.

+1.

I think the “change” that “needed to happen” has already happened. Team is on a good path.

Who would have the incentive to poison the well of the GFR 2014/13 program to motivate the younger 2017-15s to look elsewhere? Perhaps to a newly formed club?

It's winter break

Let's see what happens in January, new club? new league? coaches leaving? coaches staying?

Tryout dates? It's like the new season of Stranger Things coming out, can't wait to see what will happen

Now it’s demigorgons instead of White Walkers? Mixed metaphor.
