I've only seen the NBC reports and people talking about the NBC report. The critical part is that Kavanaugh swore that he hadn't heard about the Ramirez allegations until September 23 and, yet, the texts seem to show that he was preparing a defense to those allegations in July.

"The texts between Berchem and Karen Yarasavage, both friends of Kavanaugh, suggest that the nominee was personally talking with former classmates about Ramirez’s story in advance of the New Yorker article that made her allegation public. In one message, Yarasavage said Kavanaugh asked her to go on the record in his defense. Two other messages show communication between Kavanaugh's team and former classmates in advance of the story.
. . .
In a series of texts before the publication of the New Yorker story, Yarasavage wrote that she had been in contact with “Brett's guy,” and also with “Brett,” who wanted her to go on the record to refute Ramirez. According to Berchem, Yarasavage also told her friend that she turned over a copy of the wedding party photo to Kavanaugh, writing in a text: “I had to send it to Brett’s team too.”
. . .
Further, the texts show Kavanaugh may need to be questioned about how far back he anticipated that Ramirez would air allegations against him. Berchem says in her memo that Kavanaugh “and/or” his friends “may have initiated an anticipatory narrative” as early as July to “conceal or discredit” Ramirez.

Kavanaugh told the Senate Judiciary Committee under oath that the first time he heard of Ramirez’s allegation was in the Sept. 23 article in The New Yorker."

Exactly! It's over. I can't believe the words out of Flake's mouth. They have plenty of perjury and temperament issues. Flake said himself, if he lies the nomination is over. Flake has to keep his word. The world is watching.

Its over FOR HIM (Flake.) We still need Collins or Murkowski, and NOT to lose Manchin or Heitkamp.

I thought what he was saying was that the no.inaction would be withdrawn and there would be no vote. I thought if perjury was proven its automatically disqualifying and they could not give him the vote.

False. We were talking about Ramirez too, last week.

If you have something new to add there, go ahead and say it. She's not the one seeking confirmation, though, so the primary focus is properly on him, not her.

Yes. No meat to discredit her there, and now we are talking about he lied that he didn't know about Ramirez's allegations and that he tried to get his friends to cover for him there. And how he lied that he didn't know he was at a wedding with her, when he had asked for the picture FROM THE WEDDING to try to use it to say she was fine being around him. She is as far away from him in that picture as she can be...

What kind of investigation is the FBI doing if they're not responding to people sending evidence?

NBC News reached out to Berchem for comment after obtaining a copy of a memo she wrote about the text messages. In a statement to NBC News, Berchem, a partner in the law firm Akin Gump, said: “I understand that President Trump and the U.S. Senate have ordered an FBI investigation into certain allegations of sexual misconduct by the nominee Brett Kavanaugh. I have no direct or indirect knowledge about any of the allegations against him. However, I am in receipt of text messages from a mutual friend of both Debbie and mine that raise questions related to the allegations. I have not drawn any conclusions as to what the texts may mean or may not mean but I do believe they merit investigation by the FBI and the Senate."

On Sunday, Berchem emailed FBI agent J.C. McDonough her memo. After getting no response, she resent the summary on Monday morning along with screenshots of certain texts that she thinks raise questions that should be investigated. “I’m sure he’s really busy and expect that he’ll get back to me,” said Berchem.

Berchem’s memo outlining her correspondence with Yarasavage shows there’s a circle of Kavanaugh friends who may have pertinent information and evidence relevant to the inquiry who may not be interviewed. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has already set in motion a vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination on the Senate floor for later this week.

This does reflect on Kavanaugh's character, and not just because he lied about this stuff. He is not someone I consider fit to be a federal judge, much less on the Supreme Court.

Oh, FFS. He threw ice. That is SOOOOOO disqualifying.

Throwing ice = not disqualifying
Lying about your belligerance as a drunk = disqualifying

Isn't throwing an object at someone assault?

Depends.

We are talking about the NEW allegations related to Ramirez. That he LIED HIS ASS OFF and tried to get his friends to say he didn't do it. NOT that they don't remember it, but that he didn't do it.

And then lying about remembering she was at the wedding.

I have read both transcripts. His testimony was precise.

I wouldn't go with "horndog." Having sex wasn't his goal when he was abusing women -- rather, he was using women as a prop to impress his friends.

Funny, he still does that.

But his education at one of the best law schools in the nation, his past employment as a judge, well, that matters not a whit? Suuuuuure. The Honorable Judge Kavanaugh has an impressive record that speaks for itself --called evidence, as opposed to a confused woman who has no evidence other than spittle and mumbling of a past she cannot remember.

.

So I suppose you think it's significant that Yale Law School called for a FBI investigation, as did the American Bar Association?

No, the senate does not have to act on perjury, and there is nothing automatically disqualifying about it. If there were, he wouldn't have risked lying so much.
