ECNL
Wilmington 1 NCFC 1
Charlotte 3 Fusion 0
Courage 2 Beach 1
Wilmington 0 Beach 2
FVU 1 VDA 2

GA
Triangle 1 CISC 3
VRSC 2 Skyline 1
SYC 1 McLean 2
Wake 2 CDA 0
STJ 1 Loudoun 3
NVA 1 Alexandria 0

Just local games this weekend in GA but we do have some good ones. Look for CISC and Wake to rule NC. In VA, McLean beats SYC in a close one. Loudoun gets a win against STJ and NVA squeaks past Alexandria.

Over in ECNL, Wilmington draws NCFC while Charlotte and Courage each get a win. In our Prime Time match up, FVU battles VDA but loses a close one.

Good luck to all!

+1. The game was well fought. The girls are all friends. The parents acted responsibly. Let’s keep it that way. Next week this thread will be back to the toxic usual. Let’s enjoy a nice weekend of soccer while we have it.

Arlington is back on the schedule next week. Crazy dads will be on here calling out specific teenagers in no time. Hope everyone enjoyed the vacation.
quite and observation. When the shoe is on the other foot next year. And they show up for tryouts. Pepperidge farm will remember as we say on here.

By this time the NVA GA news leaked around the NDAs. Hopefully it happens again.

GA application window just opened last week.

They are definitely not all friends but since FVU has never beaten VDA this really isn't a rivalry even with the players who switched. Everyone knew VDA would win. Agree that parents acted well but again no expectation that FVU would win. The real story is that VDA can't make champions league and FVU might not make a showcase.
with FVU its a bit more/less complex than that. poor preparation precedes poor performance.

The girls have 1hr practices on the level of an ECRL team on half a field for three days a week. Scrimmages and shots on goal are rare as catching a shiny pokemon. These practices consist of sprints where players are told they are out of shape and something posing as Rondos. Parents sent a letter with concerns to be ignored and suffer in silence. With that kind of prep it’s no wonder we tied the lowly Hammerheads. The real question is if the club is actually committed to this team or looking over the hill. 2011s were forgotten when it came to USYNT IDs and will also be missing for Kansas City showcase. Which wasn’t a mistake per the staff unless it was also forgotten and they are saving face. Strangely enough they broke their necks to sign them up for wags. All to say its a lot under the hood that can use a tune up. Girls did a decent job considering the prep so cut them some slack please. You guys probably have whole fields to practice on. Parents are probably too ashamed to admit it but the girls deserve better. They still have a chance to get a showcase if the investment planning and commitment to an actual game-plan is embraced.

GG on all sides. Looking forward to running it back for the cup game. Sorry if long winded, I just don't think the girls have been given a chance to play to their potential. Maybe Im being protective but please let us know what your practice is like. Genuinely curious.

Also that post sounds like a frustrated VDA parent or hating Arl parent agitator. Its a Lot of soccer left cup wise. The kids might pull it off so don’t speak so soon!! Also awesome sideline vibes parents. Even when the fouls happened you guys were chilled as white wine. Totally unexpected but much appreciated. This board would have you thinking its WW3 but the kids actually had fun playing each other.

I don’t think anyone is using a full field to practice in Northern Virginia or many places in the country.

I think 1/2 field is the standard for ECNL/GA. 1 hour of practice seems extremely short. Think most practice 1.5 hours 3 days a week.

Feel bad for the FVU girls if this is what is happening. The fact that you had to write a letter should tell you everything. Any change that comes from it will be short lived.

iunno i recall our old coach running scrimmages w the full field. Definitely happened for gameday prep. Actually curious if they are still taking tht approach still.

Listen, no one is blaming the girls. They are just unable to compete with the top of MA. Nothing wrong with that.

This is one reason MYS left. Looks like they made the write move.

If FVU doesn't make the showcase what's the point in the better "exposure" of ECNL? People keep talking about exposure. Well there ain't no exposure at all. If a tree falls in the woodss...

Ugh. I feel dumber from having read this post. The girls are young. Lots of improvement is still possible. There are very good showcases besides nationals (not as good, but still good). It is quite tiring the people on here thinking the level at U15 is locked in. Development is key and the kings/queens at U15 aren’t the same as those at older age groups - as history constantly shows us. Continue to develop, play the course. Ignore the U15 parents that are just about as knowledge as the ULittle parents. Your DD team could be 1st last year and 3rd this year or 5th this years and 2nd next year. The arrogance of some parents on this board is crazy.

Do you feel FVU 2011 is being developed? They’re actually getting better at the sport as a team?

Do any of these FVU teams improve?

Coaching matters. MV, DB, and today’s CW aren’t making players better. They are continuing to add partners to FVU though which will help teams get better by adding talent.

would have had more exposure in GA at this age group. Yikes. well…. What can parents do?! Demand refunds through the board?! Is that even a thing?! It all makes sense now that their best players left for bsc and vda. Even with new ecnl talent the older teams are having a harder time this year. Only the 10s are holding on even w injuries and defections. The younger teams are doing well. Yikes…
