Where did that take place? And who is the woman?

I can’t believe he tries to fist bump someone because fist bumps were considered “terrible” when the Obamas first did it and now GOPers do it.

Second, he thinks menopausal women have no worth so why would this woman give him a fist bump? He was lucky she shook his hand.

And why does he shake hands and ALSO go for a fist bump?

I think it’s a Jeep (Chrysler) factory in Toledo, Ohio.

No, she held her fist, he tried to go for a hanshake and grabed her fist and THEN made a fist. I think that led to her "first time here?" comment.

But, just like the doughnut shop, there was no advance work done whatsoever. There he asked how long the store had been in business, then said "I had no idea if it was 2 years or 20 years or 40 years." If you want people to think you're connecting with them you would know that going in and base your conversation on that (whether it's been tough times, greatest doughnut shop in 3 counties, enthusiastic startup, whatever). Even aside from his response to the counter workers.

I had an interview for a job I ended up turning down, but they were delighted when I commented about a company that was delivering heating oil to houses in Maine 120 years ago becoming a large and growing benefits management company. And it wasn't a very high level job. Did he never have to interview for anything?

He should know better but also his team is letting him down again.

Yeah, blame it on "his team."
Face it, MAGAt, he is one weird guy and an incredibly poor choice for a VP candidate.
Worse than Sarah Palin.

She was at least charming in her wildly weird way

I mean, she was pretty at least.

Being from Alaska made her unique. Her kids had quirky names. She was raising a Downs Syndrome child. She was middle class. I think she was a small town, not smart, attractive, religious woman from the boondocks and she didn't pretend to be anything else. I thought she was awful, but she was authentic.

The status craving prole who wrote a book shitting on his family & hometown, then moved 2,500 miles from his family to be mentored by a deeply creepy tech billionaire, waxes on and on about how extended family can cover childcare.

He means women.

He's much worse than Sarah Palin. Sarah Palin wasn't the brighest, but at least she had a personality and some charisma.

Sarah Palin also had a very solid political record of 15+ years.

Vance gets a massive pass for being pale, male, and Yale. If America still cared about things like foreign policy Vance would have never made it to the VP short list.

I am sure less stringent childcare regulations will be a massive winning talking point. Who doesn't want their infant cared for by someone untrained or barely trained.

What pass? Nobody likes him. Most Trump supporters hated his selection.

I'm not talking about people not liking him. I'm talking about the fact that he's unqualified to be Vice President/one heartbeat away from the Presidency. Even less qualified than Palin. But he's a white guy that went to Yale Law School so no one even bothers to talk about his inexperience.

THIS guy has the gall to say that school shootings are just a fact of life

This does not need to tolerated as a fact of life. Get rid of this clown and his clown boss and let's make some progress on ridding ourselves of the American carnage these two try to protect.

So the Republican plan is finally out! Just give up since it’s a fact of life here (and almost nowhere else). Then we add armed security to all soft targets: schools, malls, grocery stores, etc. So maybe a couple million extra security guards should help.

Maybe all public areas should function like an airport with armed guards and metal detectors. Everyone will just love this republican vision of a fully restricted and armed security state!
