You do understand the s&p is much larger right? |
Republicans were voted out. It's on the current administration now. |
The republicans were voted out after they destroyed the economy. Now they are saying we should vote for them because inflation is high, but I won't be voting for people who destroyed the economy without them telling me exactly what they are going to do better this time. |
So? The point is the S&P is more diversified among industries, while the NASDAQ is tech heavy. One being larger than the other makes no difference to what has happened to your holdings. If you had $100 in an S&P index at the beginning of the year, you now have $77. If you had the $100 in a NASDAQ index it is now worth $68. |
Holy shit guys, he really is this dumb. |
You'll notice that this is always the response to every question about Republican policies. Hell, even when Republicans controlled the White House and both houses of Congress, they gave up on having an infrastructure plan. Every other week was infrastructure week, and they offered nothing. They gave up on having any pretenses of a replacement for the ACA. Just a "brand new beautiful health care plan" that was perpetually two weeks away from being released. They are a party completely bereft of any ideas besides more tax cuts for the already wealthy. |
4 years of inflationary policy, including the president berating the FED demanding they lower rates and then once the policies start having effect, they're out of office and blame the new guy. |
What happens to your personal investments isnt a key indicator for the economy. S&P is considered a more reliable barometer for the stock market. |
| Thanks to Biden and Kamala, the republicans are going to gain power and Trump could even win. Shame on the Democrats for making Biden and Kamala represent our party when there were other alternatives. |
+1. I often think this. I no longer vote D, but did until so recently that I think things like this. There were so. many. alternatives. I was floored when BIDEN of all people became the nominee. As awful as Kamala is, I sincerely think she may have been better. Elizabeth Warren and Pete CERTAINLY would have been better. But we did this. We, voters, did this. We picked Trump and Biden and we can blame no one but ourselves. |
The biggest drivers in severe inflation were Covid hysteria and resulting lockdowns, pro-climate / anti-energy policies, and massive spending packages. These are all things that the Democrats did. And the timing checks out — inflation only became bad with Democrats in full control. You can play the blame game all you want but it won’t pan out well for you in the elections. |
Neither Warren, and especially not Buttigieg, would have won. Biden was the statesman we needed to take on a Covid crisis. It would have been Hillary all over again but worse because both of those two have less name recognition and far less accomplishments and governing experience. |
+1 !!! |
