Trump looks so sick

I heard his speeches and interviews at Davos and he does sound worse than previously. However, there's also an element of fatigue, due to travel, that makes his speech worse. Usually when he's at home and in his routine, he sounds better (but still far from normal).

All in all, I don't think the decline is fast enough. I know you guys love to anticipate his imminent demise, but he might well live out his term.

Elderly people have very low energy, especially if they didn’t care for themselves early in life. He probably just doesn’t have the energy for the job. It’s long hours and a ton of international travel. He probably struggled hard with that time zone change.

He famously barely sleeps on planes and insists that there is a staff member at all times near him to chat with.

That sounds like "pressured speech" which some dementia and bipolar people have, where they just can't be quiet.

I'm NOT a Trump fan and I'm not giving him any credit, BUT that an 80-year-old person can keep the schedule of a President, while somewhat impressive, it surely comes at a cost. First, the travel would wear out anybody. I don't see how somebody that's 80 can do this- regardless of how you rate Trump's job performance? I also don't see how somebody this age, would want the job of President? Obviously, ego (and maybe avoiding jail time) is the driver here.

I think if Trump hadn't run for President in 2024, that MAYBE he could have quietly gone off into the sunset? I know his ego won't allow it, but surely he can't be happy in his current position? Since he has brought all this onto himself, I don't feel sorry for him, but I do wonder if he ever regrets running in 2024? I think golfing, hanging out at your mansion in Palm Beach, and spending your last years with family, is much better than being President. I guess I'm thinking too much like a sane, rational person, but I just don't get this guy.

Donald Trump is not a normal human being. He is driven by a profound need for attention and unrelenting greed. The spotlight and money are like oxygen for him. He can't turn it off. For 80, he still seems reasonably sharp and energetic - certainly compared to Biden, who spent most of his presidency shuffling and mumbling. Why both parties embraced geriatrics will forever be a mystery. But Trump doesn't seem near death to me, particularly given his very demanding schedule. His mind is likely to rot quicker than his body is unfortunately.

Can he not close his mouth all the way now?

I’m the PP whose dad had dementia. He (my dad) had this same stance and mouth gape. It’s uncanny.

No virgins' blood only works so long

My guess is that Miller tries to lead the show after the passing

But I’ve seen nothing that suggests that Vance and Miller would work well together without their current goal of placating Trump. I’m imagining a major power struggle that possibly ends with Miller getting pushed out and Vance realizing that that adulation that Trump got won’t transfer to him.

Maybe. I doubt he can bathe himself though. If true, that would be stage six.

My father had similar symptoms and in the span of about a year and a half, went from riding a bike for exercise and having full conversations to becoming unable to bathe himself, suffering from uncontrollable bowels (the dementia makes it so they cannot tell if they need or have gone to the bathroom), having severe short-term memory loss (but excellent long-term memory), having difficulty walking, having swollen ankles, taking frequent naps, and eventually spending most of the time seated in a chair do to exhaustion. I think what would move Trump to the next level would be if we notice repetitive speech, an inability to speak for an hour, an inability to go up stairs or walk for very long, and maybe even limited golf (unless he spends most of the time in the cart).

We are already seeing the items you list.

This is what dying looks like. I saw my dad die a couple of years ago. It looks exactly like this.

I hate to compare my dad to this monster but the expression with dead eyes and open mouth looks like my dad in the very late stage of Alzheimer’s.

Whenever I come across a YouTube video about Trump’s health, I scroll straight to the comments looking for posts from retired or practicing medical professionals. It eases my stress. Anyone else?

From the comments section:
I am a neurologist.
This is NOT early onset alzheimer's.
It's END STAGE DEMENTIA

Ok,so, I've worked in end-of-life care for 20 years and this is exactly what I think too. I know that everyone is saying Alzheimers and Frontal Temporal Dementia but I honestly don't see that. I've worked with more Dementia patients of all kinds than I can count and multi infarct Dementia is the speech, behavior, and waxing/waning of symptoms that he actually is exhibiting. I mean, I could write a whole paper about the differences but, yeah, it just fits better.

Frontal Temporal brain decay, millions of neurons burned fkd-off, leading to evident no-possible-to-cover--up senile dementia, like the one that affected his dad Fred tRUMP.
-----Having worked in the field I've said the same to friends.

Rabid dog.

My mother died of frontotemporal dementia (age 73), but hers was not the behavioral variant. Thankfully she was docile, but quickly lost the ability to speak and also developed the speech/swallowing variant (bulbar onset) of ALS. (At least it was over in under two years.)

The behavioral variant is a nightmare.

... I should add that my mother never lost her memory--she still recognized people, and still would go to the fridge and get them a beverage. But since she couldn't talk, we had very little idea of what was going on in her brain.

How about… educating our children so that no one votes for these monsters?

Yep. And how about using what we already have: The 25th amendment.
The Republicans maintaining Trump in office are well aware of his deficiencies.
