Can he not close his mouth all the way now?

I’m the PP whose dad had dementia. He (my dad) had this same stance and mouth gape. It’s uncanny.

Geez. Except for the fact that she could no longer stand for any length of time, he looks a lot in that pic like my mom did when she was 85 and had been on dialysis for 3 years.

I heard his speeches and interviews at Davos and he does sound worse than previously. However, there's also an element of fatigue, due to travel, that makes his speech worse. Usually when he's at home and in his routine, he sounds better (but still far from normal).

All in all, I don't think the decline is fast enough. I know you guys love to anticipate his imminent demise, but he might well live out his term.

I'm NOT a Trump fan and I'm not giving him any credit, BUT that an 80-year-old person can keep the schedule of a President, while somewhat impressive, it surely comes at a cost. First, the travel would wear out anybody. I don't see how somebody that's 80 can do this- regardless of how you rate Trump's job performance? I also don't see how somebody this age, would want the job of President? Obviously, ego (and maybe avoiding jail time) is the driver here.

I think if Trump hadn't run for President in 2024, that MAYBE he could have quietly gone off into the sunset? I know his ego won't allow it, but surely he can't be happy in his current position? Since he has brought all this onto himself, I don't feel sorry for him, but I do wonder if he ever regrets running in 2024? I think golfing, hanging out at your mansion in Palm Beach, and spending your last years with family, is much better than being President. I guess I'm thinking too much like a sane, rational person, but I just don't get this guy.

I'm not sure about that. I remember my 90 year old grandmother who would get up early and stay up late, take a nap in the afternoon. He doesn't really do much actual work, when he's being briefed he doesn't bother listening, just takes over and rambles. And he's never had a normal sleep schedule to begin with so one might argue that the jet lag thing doesn't even apply to him. As for spending time with his family, not sure about that either. There's a photo of someone's baby being plopped on his lap and he's not even looking at the baby, he's staring off in another direction.

If Trump had not run for president in 2024, he would have spent the rest of his life in prison.

His desperation to hold onto power is motivated by desire to avoid prison, same with his buddy Netanyahu. That motivation is what compels them to do anything and everything to hold onto power.

Clearly has something going on that's serious that they are not telling us.

Looking at his schedule from yesterday...5:30 PM: The president participates in policy time.

What the crap is that? Is that the new version of the "executive time" he used to have?

Elderly people have very low energy, especially if they didn’t care for themselves early in life. He probably just doesn’t have the energy for the job. It’s long hours and a ton of international travel. He probably struggled hard with that time zone change.

He famously barely sleeps on planes and insists that there is a staff member at all times near him to chat with.

Haha he “insists”, no the press po reports there is a clear direction to never leave him alone. Period. He must be supervised by staff at all times.

LOL, Maybe "Policy Time" is actually "Police-y Time" AKA "Story Time". He gets his baff from a nursey and she reads him all sorts of horrifying news stories of our growing police state while she rocks him to sleep and feeds him a bottle.

He isn't sick enough because the SOB is still breathing.

I’m sure he’ll get a burst of energy today when he learns about another ICE killing. That should get his blood pumping with excitement.

Many people his age are on blood thinners and/or have heart issues. So, for his age he's not in bad shape, but the fact remains that we should not have an almost 80 year old President. That's way too old.

I think the cognitive decline is more than a little bit. I agree, we should not have an almost 80 year old president and he combination of him being unqualified and mentally unfit is scary. We need to do better.

One Canadian columnist asked: “How would Trump behave differently if he was legitimately losing his mind?”

So far, at least in public, he’s been appropriately clothed. That could change.

I’m sure the Canadian columnist has read and watched the many comments by mental health professionals. There is widest agreement.

That’s the amphetamines. Even murder can’t get his gummy, clotty blood going these days.
