Wow, quite a display of self-importance and also naivety. I didn't realize this forum was going to solve the mystery of RG's departure. |
Nothing new happened. This is just the naive obsession of a small and clearly bored group of people to prove or at least convince themselves that RG and the NAIS are sinister.
Corruption is everywhere and RG is thankfully gone. SSFS is recovering nicely from the consequences of RG. Parents will soon need to decide if they are staying or leaving. |
To think SSFS is recovering nicely is naive at best. Since his unceremonious departure, the CFO has been let go, the head of MarCom has left, an Interim Head has stepped down and an emergency one put in place, oh and the only admin with longevity has announced his departure. But you’re right. It’s fine. Everything is fine.
|
Soon you will have to decide to stay or leave. If you believe things at SSFS are less than fine then leave. But you and the other 3-4 posters that just keep rehashing old news and listing cherry picked evidence to support your narrative that SSFS isn't recovering are not helping to solve anything - you're just whinging. |
“Recovering nicely” seems a stretch. What has been nice about it? |
When RG left a lot of people felt optimistic. However the way the recovery has gone has not really made people feel confident. The continued frustration on this forum reflects that. Going silent while that frustration remains isn’t going to help anything. Venting frustration here doesn’t solve anything - for that we keep pressure on the admin but there is no reason to not vent those frustrations here just because some people don’t like to hear it. |
You clearly have your narrative that the school is not recovering nicely and I have my narrative that the school IS recovering nicely. You will interpret and list all the problems that fit your narrative with or without context. For example, lumping DB's impending departure as fallout from the RG controversy when in fact it may be that DB was planning a departure to coincide with his youngest son graduating. And I have my list of efforts that support my narrative of recovery such as the proper and active national search for a new HOS, the repairs of the PAC, the grant received for LS renovations, etc. Recovering nicely or not are matters of opinion and perhaps overall mindsets (glass half full or empty). Luckily, in a few weeks you can decide to stay or leave. It's now that simple. |
Venting is a two way process. The person(s) doing the venting may feel some immediate release from their worry or stress but the second part of the process involves those of us that have to listen to what's being vented. And in the long run for both those venting and those listening, this steady stream of venting has become problematic rather than problem solving. Everything that happens now at SSFS is now interpreted as fallout from RG and/or the "sky-is-falling". The reality is that SSFS even in the best of times would still be announcing staff departures and facilities that need repairs. Not everything SSFS is trying to solve is a nail in its coffin. But again, if your narrative is that SSFS is beyond recovery or recovering too slowly then select another school |
Your words are a reflection of you, friend, not me. spices. |
When do the reenrollment contracts drop? They're usually out by now aren't they? |
I feel this thread has continued because unfortunately, the school and the Board of Trustees has not been forthcoming with information. It hard to think the school is recovering well when the CFO (a parent too) was let go expectedly after many years of service. I’ve heard a bunch of rumors about the financial health of the school. In addition, I always wondered if DB would leave this year but questioned that when he became the Interim School head just last year. And of course, replacing the interim HOS with another interim HOS is another issue. So many people are wondering what is going on and are concerned. |
We got tuition rates for the year ahead in December last school year, with contracts in late Jan and due early Feb. We haven’t even received tuition rates yet for the year ahead and I’m starting to get concerned about what it will look like… |
Friday January 24. Information was in the Sunday divisional newsletter. |
Thanks for this! I missed it in the newsletter! Still wishing for info on tuition rates, though... |
Info on tuition rates will have to come soon as cannot ask for parents to sign contracts for next year without all the terms - one of which is rate of tuition. The BOT sets tuition rates and their communication has been underwhelming. Have not seen anything about the bio or resume of the 3 HOS candidates - and no opportunity for a zoom meeting with the candidates, only an in person slot. Unless I missed an email. |
