So you're saying that the GOP is building a terrorist base for the Qataris on an US airbase? Oh, thanks for that clarification. |
Yes, anyone still identifying as a Democrat in 2025 is indeed a sheep but how can you say that without acknowledging anyone still identifying as a Republican in 2025 is just as much so a sheep? I mean, it's the Republican sheep who were duped into nominating Trump three consecutive times. Let me repeat, the idiot Republican sheep nominated Trump THREE consecutive times!!!!!!!! There is a very fair argument to say Republicans are the even dumber sheep. |
DP: You are both really strange. |
Says the sheep who nominated Trump three consecutive times or nominated Biden!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, the smart people in the room must seem very strange to you, doofus. |
Because the federal government works on a flex band. Do you really think people working from 7-3:30 get less done than people working 9:30 to 6? I, BTW, got more done 6-2:30 because I had a solid three hours where I was most alert from 6-9 and there were no meetings and fewer interruptions. 9:30 start is a solid 3-4 hours of interruptions and meetings before I could really concentrate on complex, technical writing. But that’s my biorhythm. Also, in the DMV, having all Feds due in the office 9-5:30 can add hours onto rush hour. |
Go away, weird troll |
| But we have plenty of money to give to Venezuela and Quatar. |
And when they were asked to come up with five items they did every week they threw a fit. That is literally something most private sector workers are expected to do without even being asked. If my boss sat me down, and asked me what I completed over the last week (with no warning or time to prepare), I suspect he would be pretty damn disappointed if I could only list five items over the 40 hours of work I put in. It’s basic shit like that which makes it damn hard to have any compassion for these government workers. Working for the government should be a great honor. Staff should be proud of the work they have done to help the American people. They should not have to even be asked to provide a list of what they did in the last week, they should be excited to share how they helped the American people. And it should be obvious anyway. It’s stuff like this that makes the vast majority of Americans feel like there needs to be a reckoning, that those who are just in government for a paycheck, who aren’t proud of the job they have, who don’t want to be held accountable, to go and be replaced by people who do. People who aren’t happy to sit at home with their thumbs up their asses when the democrats shut down the government, and who insist on coming into work to support the American people regardless of what their supervisors say, and regardless of whether they will ever be paid for their work. |
Are you saying that currently furloughed feds should violate the law by coming into work anyway? (And without pay?) That’s wild |
The disdain for the Five Things wasn’t bc Feds can’t write five things they do every week. I write seven pages every year for my performance review, five weekly bullet points I can do with my eyes closed. See: “if my boss asked me to…”. It wasn’t our supervisors requesting the Five Things, it wasn’t anyone in our office, in our line of supervision, in our agency. It was Elon Musk. We don’t work for him. But if you want to email him 5 things you do every week, go for it! |
We all write weekly reports already, and track hours spent on charge codes. The 5 bullets was about being fired if you don’t send them on time, which is ridiculous stakes for a weekly reports — what if you are out sick? What if you spent the week on one complicated and high consequence brief? Do you break down the bullets by sections of the brief? It gets ridiculous. I will say the clock watching is different than private — working 7-3 wouldn’t be accepted, they would just say work 7-6 if you did the quiet morning productive. They expect longer hours, and you paid more as a result. |
Associate Press has a good write up on this. Been in the works since 2017, when the US sold jets to Qatar. https://apnews.com/article/idaho-qatar-us-air-force-base-fc1506584e7833dbde3e16fe8613b6b4 |
You have zero familiarity with the federal workforce, do you? If you did, you would know that what you wrote is ignorant drivel. |
This is profoundly out of context. One of the issues with the five items is that a lot of people work on sensitive stuff and the directions were don’t reveal any sensitive information or say anything that could compromise national security etc. but there are many things that when aggregated could compromise national security etc. also not allowed to use government equipment during a shutdown so I’m not sure what you are even talking about. |
DP. Yeah, let them eat cake right? |
