You can't rebut emotional subjective personal opinion biased ramblings. When you ask for facts, verifiable evidence, data, measurements, causation, it's a waste of time. Nothing relevant can be produced. |
Did you learn this approach in Psychology 101? 😂😂 DC United Academy parents knew enough to get their kids to a level most kids can't get to. Including yours. You think they're going to listen to your axe-grinding got rejected diatribe and think, they should have joined McLean instead? 😆 |
Anti you isn't Pro dcu |
That comment means the rest of us in the dmv are all less than turds ouch |
There seems to be some sort of agreement w/local clubs. when the squad is public, you'll see there will be 2-3 players from each club. There may be a handful of good players at 1 club...but only top 1-2 will be selected and the others will be dismissed and they could be better than the other top 1-2 from another club. |
Define 'each club'? There are many local clubs |
Clubs playing in MLS Next, ecnl mostly. they wouldn't be picking from clubs that are in ODSL, that would be very rare that a top talent would be playing in a low league |
Assume they mean the P2P clubs? No clue how many they have P2P with but assume it’s at least SYC, Arlington, Alexandria, Pipeline, VDA, Maryland United. But I am not sure they have to take 2-3 from any of these for U14. |
Be careful who you talk about your kid is going to have to play D3 with those same kids you making fun of. |
Go through the thread. Too many facts have been given to list again. You can keep saying that BS but no one believes you. |
You have no idea what level anyone's kid is at. And if you did you'd feel real stupid with what you're saying. Parents at DCU are basically trapped because they don't have any other options. Just like you. They don't know what to do other than go with it and see what improves. They hope it gets better with time. Most know DCUs problems. Very few are in denial of them. Except for you. I don't care who listens to or reads the thread. But what I know is that you can't deny or ignore what has been said about DCU here. If that has some impact on decisionmaking or anyone, then that is all that matters. You've already lost your kids quest for legitimate high level soccer, just by accepting that DCU is good enough for your son. In 2 years when your time is up (if your kid doesn't get dropped) let's see where you are at. When D3 soccer with no scholarship is your ceiling and ambitions of pro soccer are far out the window, because your kid just doesn't have the level, because he's wasted time in a poor development environment, you'll look back and think, damn, we wasted all that time in an academy that didn't make him.bstter or provide him better opportunities. And reality would be you could have achieved D3 soccer with no scholarship without DCU and you could at least have saved time and hassle getting your kid to and from Loudoun. Think about how your son could have used that time. You don't get the time back and there is limited time in the game to begin with. Wasting time is not an option. DCU in its current state, is basically wasting time. Especially if pro soccer is your ambition. Maybe things change with the new director. But that will take at least a couple years to pan out. Your kid will be done by then. DCU is legitimately the laughingstock of MLS academies and that is no secret. It is KNOWN. Again, in our area it is the only option to play in an MLS academy and that is the only reason they have any relevance and why people put up with their bs. Without the MLS badge, DCU has literally nothing. And that is all parents are signing up for. The badge and perception of status. Reality is that it is all smoke and mirrors. |
No just means that your path is different and you actually have more options than kids at DCU because DCU now has rights over their movement to any other pro club. Rights that most parents at DCU don't understand. |
Some of the posters here have their kids at better places than DCUA. How do you think we know so much about the academy world. Goofy. |
And have already put their kids through academy football... |
What? Over? Did you say 'over'? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!... It ain't over now, 'cause when the goin' gets tough, the tough get goin'. Who's with me? Let's go! Come on!.. |
