The Republicans. In Texas. Keep up. |
+1 If you don’t like it, push the GOP to support a federal ban. |

It's done
Redistricted Virginians will either notice they got screwed or not, depending on if they need constituent services and new rep staff is ineffective. So eventually you will get tired hopefully by page 100. |
"Restore fairness"? LOL. Is that because "make the world a better place" was too many words? It's not even a description. It's an opinion. |
They could have left out "to restore fairness." Most people are not paying as much attention as those posting on this thread. It was deliberately deceptive. There was no reason to have that phrase in the vote. It definitely added bias. |
They might be relieved to finally have representation from someone actually trying to help them instead of playing stupid MAGA games. |
Maybe you were confused by it, but most people understood the meaning because we were paying attention. We saw how Trump ordered red states to gerrymander mid-cycle. We saw TX, MO, NC, OH all working to steal seats. We saw just how unfair that was. If you think gerrymandering is unfair (which is objectively is), then push the GOP to support a national ban. |
If it was so deceptive, it would seemingly have influenced the voting pattern across the districts in Virginia and yet it didn't seem to do that at all. It was motivating for an awful lot of democratic party and independents to come out and try to get the state redistricted. They succeeded. It did not succeed in some of the more Republican areas of the state. So it doesn't seem that it confused voters of either persuasion. |

Doesn’t matter now. A judge has blocked it.
The same way judges blocked various Trump agenda items. Which was always cheered here. Well, now it’s the dems turn to be blocked by a judge. |
Is your opinion that what Texas did was fair? And are you aware that the U.S House of representatives passes laws that impact Virginia voters? |
Republicans forum shop for activist judges who get swatted down all the time (hello, Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals!). This is nothing new, and they will lose. |
Some questionable logic here. If I was a Democrat who wanted this to pass, I would just bombard Democratic areas with ads that say dumb, inflammatory things like "vote for this if you hate Trump." If I was a Republican who didn't want this to pass, I would bombard Republican areas with ads that said dumb, inflammatory things like "vote against this if you aren't radical leftist who wants to destroy America." That would produce the same voting patterns, while having nothing to do with the substance of the proposal. |
The people who support this are effectively voting to disenfranchise people they don't agree with. When democracy in America ends, you can say you did your small part. |
